A Sachet Of Pure Water To Start Selling For N20 In Nasarawa – Producers Announce

The Nasarawa Chapter of the Association of Table Water Producers (ATWAP) has said it will soon start selling a sachet of water for N20 due to the cost of production.

Usman Diggi, Chairman of ATWAP in Keffi-Mararaba, made the disclosure on Saturday in Karu Local Government Area (LGA) at the end of a two-day workshop organised for their members in the area.

He said that because of the high cost of production materials, it was no longer feasible for them to continue to sell sachet water at the cost of N10.

The chairman attributed the reason for the proliferation of substandard table water in the state to high cost of production materials.

Mr Diggi described as unfortunate the attitude of some members who have reduced the quality of their products due to the cost of production.

“It is better to increase the price of pure water and maintain the quality than to produce substandard products given its health implications.

Mr Diggi, however, appealed to the government to do something urgently to reduce the prices of the materials “so that sachet water would still be sold for N10 in the interest of the common people who were already going through a lot”.

“The cost of nylon per kilogramme used to be N450 but at the moment it has gone up to N1,200, which is over 100 per cent increase and yet a bag of table water is sold for between N60 and N70.

“We are running at a loss, that is why some of our members are cutting corners to enable them to run the business,” he said.

Mr Diggi added that the association was doing its best to discourage the practice while appealing to government to come to their aid.

He said a lot of their members have closed their factories due to high taxes, double taxation and high cost of materials in the market.

Mr Diggi assured the public that the association, in collaboration with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), would ensure the production of quality table water.

Also speaking, Dadi Nantim Mullak, State Coordinator of NAFDAC, appealed to consumers to inform the agency of any illegal table water production in their area.

The NAFDAC coordinator said the agency has been going round to ensure that producers abide by safety standards.

He said they were also partnering with traditional rulers to ensure that only quality table water is produced and sold in the state. (NAN)

Unknown Gunmen Invade Kogi Branch Of Bishop Oyedepo’s Winners Chapel, Abduct Three Persons

Joseph Omuya Salami who is the Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, says that gunmen have invaded a branch of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, a.k.a Winners Chapel, founded by Bishop David Oyedepo.

Salami confirmed this to newsmen on Monday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Habeeb Jamiu.

The gunmen, suspected to be bandits, invaded the church’s branch at Osara community, on the Lokoja-Okene Road in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The kidnappers reportedly invaded the church premises when members were holding a meeting over the weekend, and abducted no less than three persons.

The council chairman said that he had visited the scene of the incident, alongside the Divisional Police Officer of Osara Division.

He said that the council was working with security agents to ensure the victims’ release.

God Will Deal With You If Nigeria Doesn’t Returned To A Bandits-Free Country – Popular Northern Islamic Blast Attacks Buhari

President Buhari has been blasted by a Northern cleric, the Chief Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters Mosque, Sheikh Nuru Khalid, for his failure to tackle banditry in the country.

President Buhari has been under fire from prominent Nigerians because of how he has handled the problem of insecurity in the country.

In a viral video, the Imam swore that Allah (God) will deal with the President if he doesn’t return Nigeria “united and without bandits”.

The cleric while addressing worshippers during his Friday sermon, said Buhari must ensure that he ended the menace before leaving power.

The Imam, who spoke in Hausa, said, “Go and tell the President that under his government some groups of people are issuing threats to local communities, demanding that they should be paid some amounts of money or face attack.

“And they would gather the money and announce publicly on the BBC that they (bandits) would be paid this Friday [to avoid attack].

“Tell the president that there is a country we pay allegiance to, and there is a part of the country we do not know, which is governed by bandits.

“The president should either return the country as one nation where bandits are not killing people anyhow — just the way he took over, or Allah (God) will deal with him.

“This is the message. I’m saying this in an open forum, and it is live-streamed for the world to see. I take responsibility for my words, and I’m ready to face whatever consequences for preaching peace and unity of Nigeria.

“Mr President, we don’t want to hear the reports of killing of people under your watch. We don’t want to hear reports of cowardice among our soldiers, such that they are attacked at their base.

“We have a video in which you said Nigerian soldiers had the patriotism, training, and discipline to tackle all manner of criminality in the country. You said if you were elected, you would give them the required support to tackle insurgency in a short time.

“Your Excellency, a promise made is a promise kept. If you lack the advisers to remind you of this, we are ready to tell you. We are praying to God to help you fulfil this promise if really you are willing.”

IPOB Are Not Struggling For Freedom, Rather Committing Acts Of Terrorism, To Steal Money – President Buhari Says

President Muhammadu Buhari has described members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as thieves promoting terrorism in the country.

The president said this in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Sunday, August 30, in Abuja.

According to NAN, the president said, “Further afield in the South-East, IPOB are not struggling for freedom when they attack police stations and property, but rather committing acts of terr*rism, to steal money.

IPOB is not defending Christians, as their highly paid foreign lobbyists claim when almost every citizen of those states they terrorize is uniformly Christian.

Nigerians need to unite against those who seek to divide us for their own nefarious financial and political gain.”

Go After Governor Ortom For Criticizing The President – Buhari’s Minister Tells Anti-graft Agencies, EFCC, ICPC

Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume has told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to go after Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State for criticizing Buhari

Akume made the call at a press conference in Abuja, where he asked Ortom to stop attacking President Muhammadu Buhari.

“We call on Governor Samuel Ortom to tender an unreserved apology to President Muhammadu Buhari, for using foul language and for operating outside the set rules of engagement between the state and the federal governments.

“We call on the EFCC and ICPC Commission (Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission) to thoroughly investigate the application of the total federal allocations to Benue State from May 29, 2015 to date.

“The Federal Government should as a matter of urgency direct the disbandment of the Livestock Guards in Benue State for their involvements in nefarious and criminal activities leading to the breach of peace and massacre of innocent citizens of Benue State,” Akume said.

The briefing was attended by the elders/stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue.

You’re The Cheif Commander Of Terrorists Who Sit And Eats With Them – Popular Nigeria n Cleric Blast Buhari

The Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has described President Muhammadu Buhari as the chief commandant of terrorists

Giwa, in a statement alleged that the President is against the progress of Nigeria and that he sits and eats with terrorists.

Giwa said, “The enemies of Nigeria are shying away from what can permanently solve the challenges facing the country. Why do they think they can have us under control? No, impossible!

“President Muhammadu Buhari is the Chief Commandant Of Terrorists. He does not want the progress of the nation. All he cares for is his Fulani kinsmen who have continued to rape our women, kidnap and kill the innocent citizens. Who are the bandits? Are they Yoruba, Igbo or Itsekiri? Of course, there are not Igbo or Yoruba, but Fulani.

“I am sure that if a Yoruba man was hiding in the bush somewhere in Ogun State, controlling a good number of terrorists while killing and kidnapping the innocent citizens, President Buhari must have dealt with him and his group. This clearly means that ‘something is fishy’ .

“The Spirit of God in me has led me to reveal a number of things to Nigerians, but they failed to act promptly. I said that President Buhari had created jobs for his kinsmen through terrorism. I also revealed that there are terrorists sitting and eating with President Buhari. Today, everything is now glaring that the current government is encouraging and empowering terrorists.

“Nigerians need to wake up and truly call on God to save them like He did during the late General Sani Abacha. Nobody is greater than the Almighty God, our creator. You might think you have today, but you don’t have tomorrow because no one knows tomorrow.”

I Don’t Know Why You’re Making Noise About Your Private Jet – Pastor Tunde Bakare Mock Winners Chapel General Overseer, Oyedepo

The founder of Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, has said he is no enemy of David Oyedepo, the founder of Winners’ Chapel, although they share different doctrines and beliefs.

Speaking in an interview with TVC on Saturday, August 28, the former vice presidential candidate said, “Oyedepo and I are contemporaries. We were born in the same year. He was born in August, 1954, and I was born in September. We are contemporaries, God has really blessed him and used him.

We have differences in doctrines, what we believe, but that does not make us enemies. There is a difference between issues and persons. I have nothing personal against any man of God but I will always defend the truth that I know and I will always make it plain.

By the way, when he makes noise about his private jet of a thing, do you know that I once acquired a 1707 with the logo of our church on it? Are you aware of that? But we use it for business. I don’t buy a plane to be spending money on it, that I can jump quickly on another and pay little money to where I’m going. We can afford it; we are not envious of them at all.”

Under Your Watch Nigerians Are Being Killed Like Ram – Governor Hope Uzodinma Tells Buhari

Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has stated that Nigerians are being killed like rams under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He stated this on Wednesday after holding a closed-door meeting with the president, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

He was quoted as saying, “It’s condemnable. It’s unfortunate that people kill human beings these days as if they are killing rams.”

“I will call on all of us as leaders, as Nigerians, to protect the sanctity of our nation and protect the interest of our country.”

He urged leaders to “respect and obey the rule of law and do things that are allowed by law and condemn illegal and criminal activities.”

The Imo governor also urged Nigerians to condemn crimes whenever they occur, saying justice must be served on whoever is found wanting.

He, however, advised that people must not take the laws into their hands no matter their grievance.

“The business of government is the protection of lives and property, and we must act as a government and live up to the responsibilities of government. So, we try to maintain law and order and condemn illegal and criminal activities as well as make those who are apprehended to face the law.

“So many people are taking laws into their hands, and some aggrieved people have resorted to self-help.

“Illegality upon illegality is still illegality. But all we try to do is to appeal to our people because collectively, I am almost certain that if all of us agree today that unknown gunmen and bandits must stop, they will stop,” he assured Nigerians.

“Somehow, some people tacitly and otherwise are still allowing and encouraging these criminals to harass and intimidate innocent citizens.”

Our Drinking Water Is Reasonable For High Rate Of Teenage Pregnancy Because It’s Makes Our Men Sexually Active – DCE Claims

Mr Peter Ayinsiba who is the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bongo District in the Upper East region has disclosed that the water he and the residents of his district drink is blamable for the rise in teenage pregnancy.

According to Peter, “the water we drink makes us men sexually active and makes the women highly potent”, so sexual activities are on the increase, which also leads to the upsurge in teenage pregnancy.

He revealed in an interview on Bolgatanga-based Dreamz FM that although there is no scientific backing for the claim that the water they drink stimulates sexual activity, a female nurse confirmed to him that it is true, so he is inclined to believe it.

“Somebody told me a story that the water we drink makes us men sexually active and makes the women highly potent.

“I don’t know the science of it, but a female nurse told me that it’s true. That the water we drink makes us highly potent and makes us the men sexually active. I don’t know the science of it but that is what somebody told me and I am tempted to believe in it,” Peter Ayinsiba told Dreamz FM, an excerpt of which interview is circulating online.

It is not clear if the DCE himself who happens to be the President’s representative in the Bongo district has a personal experience to corroborate the theory of their drinking water being aphrodisiac.

He however pleaded with the residents of the district to exercise restraint in their sexual activities and not take advantage of the situation to engage in sexual misbehaviour.

“We are not the only sexually active people in this region- let us restrain ourselves,” he pleaded.

“It is a multifaceted matter and the approaches cannot be one way to solving the problem. The parents have a role to play. The community has a role t play; guidance by teachers for the teenagers who are in school, and we as a government – the local assembly has a role to play.”

Attack On NDA Might Be Politically Motivated To Embarrass Buhari – Garba Shehu Claims

Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, says the recent attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) might be a ploy to embarrass President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

We had reported that gunmen attacked the NDA in the early hours of Tuesday, which resulted in the death of two officers.

The development has raised concerns on the rising insecurity in the country.

Reacting to the development on Wednesday, Shehu, in an interview on Channels Television, said the presidency expects the military to thoroughly investigate and disclose what happened.

The presidential spokesperson, who described the incident as “sad and unfortunate”, noted that many scenarios are being painted on the circumstances that led to the incident.

He said the incident might be designed by those who want to embarrass this current administration, in the wake of the “major successes” achieved by the military in the fight against insurgency and banditry.

Shehu said the incident may also be politically motivated.

“The president has denounced it. He is not happy about it. It is now left for the military authorities to thoroughly investigate this and bring out what happened,” he said.

“So many scenarios are being painted though. Could this be truly a criminal attempt to violate the sanctity of that military institution? Was this an opportunistic crime? Is it political? Does somebody want to embarrass the government by doing this?

“We are coming from major successes. Look at how Boko Haram is unravelling in the north; they surrendered. All of the victories that have been recorded even in the northwest — these bandits are being taken out in large numbers.

“So, in a climate — political climate — in which people seek to make political capital out of this unfortunate incident, you don’t rule in anything, you don’t rule out anything.

“We hope investigations will fully reveal what happened and why it happened.”

20years Old Girl Arrested For Hiring Assasins To Kill Her Ex-boyfriend For Ending Their Relationship In Lagos

20years Old Girl Arrested For Hiring Assasins To Kill Her Ex-boyfriend For Ending Their Relationship In Lagos

A comedian, Gabriel Uzoma, reportedly escaped asasination attempt after his jilted lover, Victory Kelechi Joseph, 20, allegedly hired suspected armed robbers in Military uniforms, who invaded his house in Lagos to kill him.

PM Express reports that the incident happened at Uwagboe Street, Ipaja area of Lagos, where Uzoma resides with his friends.

According to the residents, Uzoma narrowly escaped the onslaught because he did not return home that day but his friends, found in his house identified as Emmanuel Eldon and Austine Alfred, were brutally attacked at gun point.

The armed men reportedly invaded the house to attack Uzoma but when they did not find him, they damaged the television, carted away two laptops, Canon camera including money belonging to Uzoma to the tune of N555,000.

Kelechi, who was later trailed to her hideout and arrested by the police, reportedly admitted to engaging four armed men in uniform. She said after the operation she was given N20,000 out of the loot.

According to the victim, after they broke up, Kelechi had pleaded to live with him because she did not want to live with her parents and her sister. He, however, refused because his friend was already living with him.

He said she also pleaded with him to give her a role in his comedy show, which he obliged. However, on the day the comedy show will take place, Kelechi was late and her role was given to another person to perform, which led to serious disagreement between them.

Call Garba Shehu,Femi Adesina, Others To Order Before Bandits, Terrorists Take Over Aso Rock – Governor Ortom Warns

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State Governor, has hit back at the Presidency, asking them to address the issues he raised.

Ortom had in an interview with Channels TV accused the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration of providing cover for herdsmen who have been responsible for wanton destruction and killings within the last few years.

However, the Presidency through Garba Shehu, hit back in a quick fashion, accusing the governor of stirring a Rwanda-like ethnic campaign against the Fulanis; an allegation Ortom fiercely denied.

However Ortom in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase said the presidency via its “unguarded comments” would one day plunge the country into more chaos.

The governor said he was aware of a plot by the Presidency to cause crisis in the and make the state ungovernable and declare a state of emergency.

The statement read, “We read the statement released by the Presidency in response to Governor Samuel Ortom’s recent interview on Channels Television in which he raised a number of concerns bordering on the worsening security situation across the country.

“The tone of the said statement shows the quality of Presidency Nigeria currently has. They abandoned the message and went for the messenger. To describe as ‘undistinguished’, the career of a man who has held many key positions at the state and national levels proves that those who penned the piece were under the influence of some negative substances.

“The Governor spoke the minds of most Nigerians on specific areas of failure of the Presidency and its complicity in the heinous crimes committed against citizens by armed Fulani herdsmen and other terrorists. Instead of taking the Governor on those points, Shehu went chasing vain and mundane matters in a desperate attempt to malign the Governor.

“We demand an apology from the Presidency for accusing Governor Ortom of stirring ethnic tensions and calling for genocide. The Presidency has never hidden its hatred for the Governor and its latest outing only confirms that fact.

“We are aware of the Presidency’s plot to cause crisis in Benue and make the state ungovernable and declare a state of emergency. Whenever each of their plans fails as it happened with the impeachment attempt on the governor before the 2019 elections, they resort to cheap blackmail.

“The Presidency must realise that no amount of blackmail and media attack can discourage the governor from speaking against the injustice and pain the present government has caused Nigerians. No amount of sponsored smear campaigns against the governor can force him to repeal the law on open grazing of cattle in Benue State.

“Governor Ortom stands by his words that this is not the first time a Fulani man is President of Nigeria, and also that it is the first time the country has been divided on ethnic lines with lopsided appointments in promotion and celebration of nepotism, marginalization and open repugnance of other Nigerians. At no time in the history of this country have impunity, blatant disregard for laws, sectarian as well as ethnic differences been fueled by the government as we now see.

“Governor Ortom urges the good people of this country to call the Presidency to order before it destroys Nigeria. If nothing is done fast to avert the impending disaster, armed herders, bandits and other terrorists will one day take over Aso Rock Villa and those occupying the Villa at the moment will willingly surrender to them and flee from the country.”

You’re Not Fit To Run For 2023 Presidency – PDP Group Tells Atiku Abubakar

Former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has been told by a group name “People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Action 2023” to off his intentions to run for the post of president come 2023

The group accused Atiku of abandoning the party after he lost the 2019 presidential election to the candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress.

They accused the former vice president of fleeing to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) immediately the election was concluded and left the party with its affairs.

Although, Atiku has not yet declared his intention to re-contest in 2023, his son, Adamu Atiku Abubakar has confirmed that his father would contest again.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the group, Hon. Rufus Omeire on Wednesday, said in Abuja, that it was an act of betrayal for Atiku to have left the party and his supporter after the 2019 election adding that Atiku should give the younger generation the chance to contest the election.

He said, “It is a betrayal of trust for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to neglect the feelings and sacrifices of ordinary voters who supported him and PDP in 2019.

“Now the 2023 elections are at hand, he has returned and started politicking once again. Apparently, the only thing he is very good at, is politics.

“We think that time has come for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON, to step aside and allow others, preferably the younger generation, to step forward.”

God Says Next Place Bandits Will Attack Is National Institute For Policy And Strategic Studies – Primate Ayodele Says

Popular cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele, has reacted to the attack by bandits on the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, in Kaduna State, who killed two officers and abducted one.

Primate Ayodele discribed attack as a shame to the Department of State Services, DSS, and the country’s security architecture.

He pointed out that the disunity among security agencies was one of the reasons for the successful operation carried out by the bandits.

In a statement by his Media Office on Wednesday, the clergyman noted that the DSS should have obtained the intelligence reports and informed the NDA authorities about the danger coming to them before the attack happened.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call the Service Chiefs to order and urge them to stay united.

According to Ayodele: ‘’President Buhari must call security chiefs to order; they are jealous of each other and want to work independently. An intelligence report should have been made available by the DSS before the attack on the NDA. That’s their job.’’

Primate Ayodele also disclosed that God showed him that the next target of the bandits is the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru in Jos, Plateau State.

He warned the security agencies to immediately secure the place against another dangerous attack by the bandits.

“The National Institute for Policy And Strategic Studies, Kuru, is the bandits next target. God has shown me this and I’m giving this spiritual intelligence report. They should immediately get to work and protect the institution against another dangerous attack,” he said.

Our Men Wasn’t Sleeping When Bandits Attacked NDA – Defence Headquarter Says

The Defence Headquarters, Abuja, has stated that its personnel in the security room did not sleep off during the invasion of the Nigerian Defence Academy by bandits on Tuesday morning.

The Nigerian military stated that such reports were not true, while challenging anyone with proofs of such security breaches to present them.

The DHQ, in a release by Maj Gen Benjamin Sawyer, the Director, Defence Information, stated this, in a release obtained by SaharaReporters.

He said, “The attention of the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) have been drawn to a news publication claiming that personnel on duty at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) CCTV monitoring room were sleeping when bandits attacked the officers’ residential quarters leading to the death of two officers and the abduction of 1 other officer.

“The Nigerian Armed Forces wishes to state categorically that the allegation is untrue and hence challenges anyone to publish forthwith a verifiable proof of personnel sleeping during the incident.

“It is therefore imperative to caution against being used as a propaganda tool by enemies of our dear country. It is perhaps important to mention that the AFN as a professional force consist of highly trained personnel who are dedicated to their duties of protecting lives and property of all Nigerians.

“Let me use this opportunity, to reiterate that the NDA authorities, acting on the directive of the Chief of Defence Staff has constituted a board of enquiry to ascertain the remote and immediate cause(s) of the breach of security with a view to sanction any personnel found culpable and also prevent future occurrence.”

You Have 14days To Release Identities Of Terror Sponsors Or Face Our Wrath – Northern Youths Tells President Buhari

President Buhari has been given a 14days ultimatum by the Northern Youths Council to disclose the identities of those financing terror in the country.

This was disclosed in a statement by the President of the Northern Youths Council of Nigeria, Isah Abubakar on Thursday.

During Wednesday’s “Sunrise Daily” programme on Channels Television, a guest, Kunle Olawunmi, a retired Navy Commodore and Professor of Intelligence and Global Security Studies, said “he was member of a Committee that interrogated a senior member of this government on Boko Haram related issues”.

He said: “In April this year, the government said they had arrested 400 Bureau De Change (BDCs)-related people that were sponsoring Boko Haram. They told us.”

“Try them, we know them. Why can’t this government, if not that they are partisan, why can they bring those people out for trial?” he asked.

Referencing his time as a member of the military intelligence team in 2017, he noted that there are some things he cannot disclose to the public.

“I can’t come on air and start mentioning names of people that are presently in government that the boys we arrested mentioned.

“Some of them are governors now. Some of them are in the Senate. Some of them are in Aso Rock,” he said.

Subsequently, the Northern Youths Council noted that the weighty allegation if not properly treated, via deliberate government action is capable of further polarising Nigeria, which is faced with different cessation agitations.

A statement by the Council further said it wishes to “call on Mr President to immediately sack Mr Abubakar Malami (Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice) who first brought the issue of the sponsors of insecurity to the public with the promise of unveiling their identity but failed to do so, which has led to this embarrassing and weighty allegation of sectionalism against the government.

“We believe strongly that the Attorney-General is not doing much in prosecuting Boko Haram and ISWAP elements that have been arrested and the over 400 Bureau de Change Operators that are either in the custody of our security agents or have probably regained their freedom.

“The Council is of the firm belief that there can’t be peace without justice, hence, the office of Attorney-General and Minister of Justice of the Federation should be occupied by a proactive and more intelligent person other than the snail-paced and docile Malami.

The Council further noted that “Poor Northerners are the victims of terrorism and banditry, hence, any attempt to further shield the identity of the Bureau De Change operators financing the spilling of the blood of our brothers will be meted with massive protest.

“By this, the Council is serving the government a 14-day pre-protest notice. Failure to unveil the identity of the sponsors of the killers of our brothers and sisters, we shall have no other alternative but to occupy the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory until our demands are met.”

Breaking: Bandits Attack Nigerian Defence Academy, Kill Military Officer, Kidnap Two Majors

According to viral report unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have invaded the Afaka barracks of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna State, killing a naval officer.

The bandits were also said to have also kidnapped two majors.

According to report, the bandits who attacked the barracks around 1am on Tuesday are still believed to be inside the academy.

A reliable source within the barracks said security had been beefed up within and around the barracks to stop the bandits from escaping with the officers.

“It was a terrible experience; the bandits took advantage of the time when most people had gone to bed to attack the barracks.”

“Right now, the whole barracks is under lock and key and security has been beefed up so that the bandits cannot leave the barracks because it is believed that they are still within,” the source said.

One of the officers who was injured in the attack is currently being treated at a hospital within the barracks.

The source said that there are, however, fears that the bandits may decide to kill the officers in a bid to escape.

Your Government Is Only Concerned About Cows, Fighting Medias And Ignoring The Real Challenges Facing Nigeria – Ayo Adebanjo Slam Buhari

Leader of Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, has accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government of going for the less impactful things rather than tackling the big challenges confronting Nigerians.

Adebanjo said the Buhari government is failing in the area of security but going after the media and those peacefully expressing displeasure over the situation of the country.

The elder statesman also noted that while many challenges are facing the government, it is concerned where to graze cattle.

“Rather than confronting the challenges in various issues that have direct bearings on the life of the people, the federal government preferred to go for the less impactful things such as regulating the media, going after those who are peacefully expressing displeasure over what is going on in the country and concerning itself with where and how cows are to be grazed in the country,” he said.

Adebanjo made this known while reacting to a recent call by the Katsina State Governor, Bello Masari that people of his state should arm themselves for self-defence against bandits.

Noting that Masari’s call was significant because he and Buhari are members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), he added that human life under the current government has been the cheapest in the history of Nigeria.

“The worst aspect of all this is the level of insecurity in the country today. At no time in the history of this Nigeria has life been so cheap and living so precarious as they are presently.

“Unfortunately, those who should act are expressing their helplessness as exemplified by the call of Katsina state Governor, Bello Masari on the people of the state to find the means of securing themselves against bandits who have literally taken control in many parts of the state.

“For sure, Masari was not the first official to make such a call. But this was very significant not only because he belongs to the same political party as the president but also because he is the governor of the President’s home state,” he added

Even Day Old Baby Knows You’re A Disgrace To Youths As Kogi Governor – Bola Tinubu’s Supporters Slam Yahaya Bello Over His Comment

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has been slammed by a support group for the National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu for asking him to drop his 2023 presidential ambition.

Bello’s suggestion attracted the outrage of the Tinubu Support Group which said Bello’s poor performance as governor was a betrayal of the Not-too-Young-to-Run campaign.

This was contained in a statement titled, ‘Your failure in governance has betrayed the Not-too-young-to-Run Campaign-TSG replies Yahaya Bello,’ which was signed by the Director- General of the TSG, Umar Ibrahim, in Abuja, on Sunday

The statement read, “All Nigerians can attest to the fact that Governor Bello of Kogi State is a disgrace to the Not-too-Young-to-Run campaign. How do we commit a great nation such as Nigeria to a so-called youthful governor who was given an opportunity to lead his state and he messed things up?

“It is on record that you, Governor Bello, remains the governor with the highest number of months of unpaid salaries, and nonperformance despite the huge sums of both internal and federally-generated revenues.

“We advise that you channel all your efforts into begging and praying for forgiveness for all the sufferings you have inflicted on the good people of Kogi state rather than eyeing the presidency.”

The group described Tinubu as the most qualified and competent candidate to succeed Buhari.

The outrage trails a recent interview Bello had in which he advised Tinubu to allow a youth to emerge as president.

Bello said the former Lagos State governor should take a back seat and allow youths he has groomed to rule Nigeria.

He, however, noted that though the APC National Leader has the right to contest in 2023, he should step back and allow the youths.

Bello stressed that Nigeria is not a Banana Republic that one or two persons can see as their personal properties.

He was quoted as saying: “Senator Tinubu is one of our leaders and I respect him so much. He has played a very significant role in Nigeria’s democracy and has built a lot of people.

“He has paid his dues, and with all respect, as a son to him, my simple advice is that it is time for him to allow his children to take over the mantle of leadership and do it to the glory of God and his admiration.

“He should see that those children he raised are now doing well. Let him see how we manage this country in his lifetime.

“However, he has a right to run, nobody is questioning that.

“Let me tell you that Nigeria is not a banana republic, which a committee of one or two persons will see as a personal estate or property.”

In Osun State Secteriat of All Progressives Congress, reporters had reported on August 14 that there was serious pandemonium as party members and hoodlums loyal to Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, clashed at a meeting.

The meeting was the sitting of the Ward Congress Appeal Committee in Osogbo, the state capital.

Vice-President Osinbajo And Governor Ganduje 2023 Presidential Campaign Posters Flood Kano State

Some major roads in Kano state have been flooded by campaign posters with pictures of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje ahead of 2023 Presidential election.

The posters carrying the inscription “Osinbajo-Ganduje Alliance (OGA), For Better Nigeria OGA Na Master”, were spotted in strategic locations across the state.

Such areas include Total by Airport Road Roundabout, Ahmadu Bello Way by Shekarau house, Murtala Muhammad Way, Kano Club Roundabout and Independence Way Roundabout, Legit reports.

Though no one has claimed responsibility for pasting the campaign posters, a group, Alliance Support told journalists that it has endorsed Osinbajo and Ganduje for the presidency.

Leaders of the group, Messrs Oluleke Mose and Bello Adamu Mohammed, said they endorsed the candidature of the duo for a united and better Nigeria.

They said the pairing of Vice President Osinbajo, as someone coming from the second-largest voting zone and Ganduje from the largest voting zone could be a political masterstroke for votes in 2023.

The group said, “We believe that if power rotates to the South, Osinbajo is best placed to unite, heal and inspire our great nation.

“We also firmly believe that Ganduje’s antecedents as Governor of Kano make him the perfect Northern vice presidential candidate to Osinbajo; one who will advance and protect the interests of a Northern Nigeria plagued by poverty and insecurity.

“Vice President Osinbajo and Governor Ganduje have both offered the most plausible solutions to ending the security crisis occasioned by the farmers-herders crisis across the country.”

AY Messed With Loyalty – Comedian Basketmouth Finally Reveals They’re No Longer Friends

Ace Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has revealed why he is no longer friends with his colleague, Ayo Makun better known as AY

The comedian said AY revealed to a third party what he told him in confidence.

“I’m not competitive. I did 23 years years of comedy first. Towards the end, I started moving away. After comedy, I decided I was going to do TV, then online. Doing online, the opportunity for music came, so I did it,” he said.

“I left the online sitcom and went into music fully. From music, I’ll now go into movies, with my first film to come in November 2021. From there, I’ll go back to standup comedy. If I had a competition, I won’t be moving!

“I’d have stayed where the competition is. I still do standup comedy but not with great energy because I’m targeting all round entertainment now. My competition is me. There’s nothing [like a feud] between AY and I.

“He came in my space; messed with loyalty by saying something to my lawyer Magnus that I told him in private. It was nothing but it was enough to cause a rift and have me put up the walls. We made peace and he apologised. I have no single problem with AY as claimed. We don’t talk.”

There Is No Different Between Buhari And Roman Emperor Who Did Nothing While His Empire Burnt – Afenifere

The Yoruba sociopolitical organisation leader,  Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, has likened President Muhammadu Buhari to Roman Emperor Nero, whom he said did nothing while his empire burnt.

According to the foremost Yoruba group, Buhari has been making several errors in government.

A statement signed by Afenifere’s spokesman, Jare Ajayi, on behalf of Adebanjo said, “This attitude on the part of President Buhari ‘recalls to one’s mind, the story of the Roman Emperor Nero who was busy on the fiddle when his empire was burning’.

“Afenifere not only called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ‘redirect its administration adroitly, we advise his government to embrace democratic ethos immediately by pursuing only policies that are in the best interests of the people.”

Speaking on the need to restructure the country, Adebanjo noted that the only panacea for Nigeria’s various problems is for the government to “shun nepotism, confront insecurity and restructure the country immediately”.

“The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has taken measures that were totally against the interests of the Nigerian populace.

“Contrary to the promises made during the electoral campaigns by the President and his party, the All Progressives Congress, the prices of commodities and services have skyrocketed while social services delivery and infrastructure kept receding,” he said.

In Africa Nigerians Are The Most Miserable – Ex-Information Minister, Jerry Gana Says

Former minister of information and former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Jerry Gana has stated that Nigerians are the most miserable in Africa as “nothing is working in the country.”

Speaking on Saturday August 21 at a retreat organised by the Kogi Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Renaissance Group in Abuja, Gana averred that majority of those suffering are youths.

He said youths have become “jobless, frustrated and hopeless” as a result of the “harsh economic policies of the current administration.”

Maintaining that nowhere is safe in the country including the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina state, the former Minister claimed that PDP “is the only hope now for the Federal Republic of Nigerian to return back to sanity”.

He said;
“In the misery index, Nigeria is the highest in Africa. We are the most miserable set of people in Africa because nothing is moving. In fact, our currency is now 100 percent devalued. Nigeria is going through a very difficult time.

“The level of indebtedness in the past few years is such that every Nigerian is now in debt. The Naira is perhaps one of the most useless currencies in Africa today. I have never seen this level of corruption as we have today. In fact, the level of corruption makes the PDP governments look like angels because corruption is now a thousand times worse.

“Governor Maisari was advocating recently that everyone in Katsina state should get a gun. Do you know where Katsina is? Do you know who comes from Katsina? “

Enough Of Your Fake Prophecies, Vision On Nnamdi Kanu – Lawyer Warns Pastors

Lawyer to embattled leader of the indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has said that he could no longer tolerate the myriad of prophecies and visions sent to his mail daily, while warning that clerics should stop the practice.

Ejiofor added that the array of “fake prophecies” was a distraction to the ongoing legal processes, while asking such prophets and soothsayers to desist from sending items to him.

The IPOB leader’s lawyer stated these in a statemen on Saturday.

He said, “As a Christian which I am, I encourage prayers, and supplications to the Almighty God, but what I can’t allow to continue is inundating my inbox with all sorts of fake prophesies. It must stop.

“This may sound ridiculous to discerning mind but it should be a formal notice to those deliberately taking my leniency for granted over time, without being reprimanded.

“Please pray over any positive, negative vision, dream or prophecy but do not send to me again.

For your information, I have a God that never fails. And He always speaks to me in a language I understand.

“Those guilty of this infraction may not be availed with further reason for either being permanently banned from commenting or interacting with me on my platforms.

I consider these end-time prophecies as serious distraction to our legal work.

“Keep the prophecy to yourself because it is becoming a huge embarrassment to my descent page.”

Ejiofor added that Kanu was in high spirits.

“Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was visited on Thursday, he is stable and in a wonderful spirit. All legal processes incidental to freeing him soon is efficiently active, but none shall be discussed here any longer,” he noted.
