How Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Is Setting The Pace In Enugu With Modern Day Recreational Centers

Many Nigerians today feel overworked, pressured, and squeezed to the point of anxiety, depression, and disease. And it does not seem to get any better. However, as the saying goes... 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.' There is a leader who sees relaxation as an effective way of cushioning the negative effects of hard work. That man is Governor Ifeanyi Ugwanyi, a PDP member and leader in the South East - the governor of Enugu state.

Paradoxically, the best way to get more work done may be to spend more time doing less. Research shows that strategic renewal — including daytime workouts, short afternoon naps, longer sleep hours, more time away from the office m, more frequent vacations — boosts productivity, job performance and, of course, health.

It is based on this premise that the all round governor of Enugu State, Gburugburu is trying to bring back old Enugu parks which he has demonstrated by branding ENUGU UNITY PARK to an international standard and has also started revamping all the abandoned parks in Enugu state. The Enugu unity park is in the heart of Enugu and is one of  the best multi purpose parks in this country.

"Adding relaxation to hardwork will help maintain a seemingly sustainable peace of mind, good health and long life," Governor Ifeanyi Ugwanyi maintained.

A member of Enugu State Basic Education Board, Hon. Nnaemeka Charles Eze,  affectionately known as Nani Boi takes Zebra News into what the number one citizen is doing to revamp relaxation centers and fun-spots within the state.

"My leader, His Excellency, Rt.  Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, is committed to making Enugu a better place, not just for its citizens, but for all; I mean both indigenes and non-indigenes. Although, he is one person that encourages dedication and hardwork, he doesn't joke with the comfort and mental stability of his people. He believes, there's a time for everything, a time to work and a time to relax, unwind and put yourself together."

"So in other to do this, the governor first identified the need to put some places and facilities in structure. He has decided to reform all our parks into recreational and relaxation centers. Places that will not only be safe for people, but stress free with a conducive atmosphere. Let me give you a verifiable example; Enugu Unity Park was recently rebranded and is still being branded with facilities that can match up to an international parks.

"The Enugu Unity Park is in the center of Enugu and is about the best place to relax and unwind with your friends and family, experiencing natural breeze and environment. It has a lion sculptor which is arguably the biggest Lion sculptor in African, with a mini event center inside and fully air-conditioned. The park has different sections including the section for kids. Most Nollywood movies shot in Enugu use this park. Students, families and friends come from afar just to have picnics in the park. The park is well lit in the night with solar powered systems." he said.

Stressing further, Mr Eze added; "recently, the governor in company of the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ugonna Ibe and other stakeholders visited some abandoned state owned parks, in a bid to restore them to their original purpose. These are parks that have been illegally converted to churches, residential areas and automobile workshops. He immediately made funds available for the parks to be cleaned up. His mission is to ensure that these facilities are put into effective use in line with their original purpose in the overall interest of his people."

Enugu State is in the hands of God.

2023: Enugu East Will Produce Next Governor, Don’t Impose Ekweremadu On Us- Nkanu West Youth Group Blows Hot

Ahead of the 2023 general election, several intrigues and conspiracies are beginning to unravel among the senatorial districts and governorship aspirants in Enugu State as the political parties fine-tune strategies to either select or hold primaries for their flag bearers in the 2023 gubernatorial election.

The group, known as Nkanu West for Good Governance (NWGG) under the umbrella of the People Democratic Party Youth Wing in Enugu State made the declaration this weekend after a brief stakeholders and leaders meeting and consultation in the local Government.

On the forthcoming governorship election in the state by 2023, the national coordinator of the group Mr. Anthony Ibe said, “While reiterating that the PDP must continue its Zoning formula for the Governorship elections, we wish to commend all the Gubernatorial Aspirants of our party in Enugu State, for their matured politicking, we also want to remind the state and national governing body of the zoning formula in the state to mitigate marginalization of any group.”

He further said, “Coming to the issue of zoning, I want to tell you that we are resolute to continue the sustained takeover of Enugu State government house for PDP. We all know the zoning arrangements we are talking about and we are also determined that credible candidate emerges with a free and fair primary but those candidates have to come from Enugu Senatorial Zone and not the West as some comments have been going around nominating Senator Ike Ekweremadu for the role and that is unacceptable.”

“It is only reasonable, just and fair that the only senatorial district to produce a governorship candidate for the party in 2023 in the state has to be, Enugu East”, he declared.

His words, “We have gone too far in this journey, we have had series of meetings, we have made compromises in times past to ensure equitable distribution of power in the state, we cannot afford to recant our position as a people and as a party.”

“I challenge those who think otherwise or want to Impose Senator Ike Ekweremadu to show evidence why power should not shift to Enugu East. This is the zone that has shown the most loyalty and commitment to the PDP in the state, returning the highest number of votes for the party in all elections since 1999. The records are there at INEC for anybody to verify”, he asserted.

Nkanu West for Good Governance (NWGG) charged all PDP faithful and political actors in Nkanu West to remain resolute in the demand for their rights, as a demonstration of loyalty to the party.

Twitter Has Agreed To All Conditions Given By Federal Government – Festus Keyamo Says

President Buhari’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo has said that Twitter has agreed to all condition givien to it by the Nigerian government.

Recall that the Buhari-led administration had in June suspended the operations of Twitter in Nigeria, citing the “persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.”

Buhari, however, set up a team to engage with Twitter over a ban that has been in effect since June 4, though many Nigerians have been bypassing the ban by using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed chairs the team set up to engage with the management of the microblogging site.

Keyamo, who is a member of the committee, during an interview said Twitter had agreed to make significant concessions.

He said, “The reason the president took that step is to recalibrate our relationship with Twitter and not to drive them away from our country.

“That recalibration, we have started it and the President graciously added me to the committee.

“We also set up a technical committee to interface with Twitter and come up with a lot of conditions for them to fulfil for us to lift the suspension.

“It was Twitter that reached out to the Federal Government to say they want to know what and what they can do to straighten up the relationship with the Federal Government and so, we have gone far but I may not, at this forum, let out a lot but we gave them a lot of conditions and they have agreed to all the conditions.”

Lagos State Police Saves Community From Hoodlums

A team of police acting on the orders of the inspector general of police through Lagos State Criminal Investigative Department (CID) Panti, Yaba, have dislodged a gang of hoodlums that have been terrorising the serene neighbourhood of Okun Aja ,Ogombo in Eti Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State,  arresting some suspects in the process.

It was gathered that the hoodlums who regularly converge at Royal King Hotel, a notorious haven for  housing the hoodlums, also in the neighbourhood, had made life very difficult for the people of Okun Aja  as well as its environs  with their nefarious activities.

Before the police came to rescue the situation,  the hoodlums who converge at the Royal King hotel regularly have been constituting nuisance to the community to the point that life was becoming unbearable for the inhabitants.

It was learnt that the police operatives were informed about the illegal activities of the hoodlums who rob , extort and caused general unrest around the area. Nigerians Should Present NIN Before Using A Restaurant — Minister Of Communication, Isa Pantami

The Minister for Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, has stated that in order to secure Nigeria in the next few years, Nigerians should present and verify their National Identity Number even before using a restaurant.

The minister stated this while speaking at a convocation lecture of the Federal College of Education Technical Gombe. He explained why his ministry insisted on the mandatory use of the NIN in spite of over 44 petitions written against the policy and several court cases in the country.

The minister added that the NIN policy was mandatory by law in Nigeria and that it stood to secure the country. He said, “Without profiling, no country will be secured globally. Criminals don’t like it, and they have been fighting it day in, day out.

When I came up with the policy, they wrote more than 44 petitions against us just to stop it, some of them to Mr President; some of them even court cases. But today it has become part of our lives, you cannot go and obtain a SIM card without NIN and we are glad that the Joint (Admissions and) Matriculation Board has accepted it.

The Nigerian Immigration Service has also accepted it. I do hope that in order to secure our country in the next few years, even if you want to enter a restaurant you must verify your NIN. Most of us when we travel abroad, we obtain their NIN before going anywhere or doing anything but when we come back to Nigeria, we don’t have it.

You cannot go and work in the USA without the Social Security Number, you cannot work in the UK without the National Insurance Number, you cannot work in Saudi Arabia without their Saned Number; you cannot go to India and work without Aadhaar Number.

In all these countries, this identification is mandatory by law and it is mandatory by law in Nigeria, so, in any situation, we will continue to push for its implementation and for sure we cannot be intimidated.”

China Set To Take Over Uganda’s Only International Airport Over Debts

Chinese lenders, the Export-Import Bank of China, also known as Exim Bank, has taken over the Ugandan Entebbe International Airport and other assets in the country over the failure of the Ugandan government to repay a loan.

This came despite reports that President Yoweri Museveni had sent a delegation to Beijing for a renegotiation with the Chinese government over toxic clauses that exposed the East African country.

The Museveni-led Ugandan government had on Tuesday, 17 November 2015, signed an agreement with Exim Bank to borrow $207 million at two per cent upon disbursement.

The loan had a maturity period of 20 years including a seven-year grace period, but it had now appeared that the transaction signed with the Chinese lenders practically means Uganda “surrendered” its most prominent and only international airport.

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) revealed some provisions in the Financing Agreement with China that exposed Entebbe International Airport and other Ugandan assets to be attached and taken over by Chinese lenders upon negotiation in Beijing.

Uganda, however, sought to renegotiate the deal but the latest visits and pleas to alter the original terms with Chinese authorities were declined.

According to the Daily Monitor, the Ugandan government waived international immunity in the agreement it signed to secure the loans, exposing Entebbe International Airport to take over without international protection.

In desperation, Uganda in March 2021 sent a delegation to Beijing hoping to renegotiate the toxic clauses of the deal but the officials came back empty-handed as China would not allow the terms of the original deal to be varied.

Last week, Uganda’s Finance Minister, Matia Kasaija, apologised to parliament for the “mishandling of the $207 million loan” from the China Exim Bank to expand Entebbe International Airport.

Progress of works at the airport, built in 1972, has reached 75.2 per cent, with two runways having reached overall completion of 100 per cent.

Entebbe International Airport is Uganda’s only international airport and handles over 1.9 million passengers per year. Its seizure by China would greatly dent the legacy of the 77-year-old Museveni, who came to power on the back of an armed uprising in 1986, and expose him to election defeat.

Governor Bala Mohammed Gifts Atiku Abubakar Bull As Birthday Gift

Governor Bala Mohammed has gifted former vice president Atiku Abubakar a birthday bull.

Mr Atiku celebrated his birthday on Thursday, as he clocked 75 years.

The ex-vice president disclosed this in Bauchi while inaugurating a 4.2 kilometres Gombe road-Maiduguri bypass, named after him by Mr Mohammed.

”Today, I read with emotions your birthday greetings to me. I don’t normally like celebrating birthdays, but here you are today, making me celebrate birthday with a birthday cake and birthday bull,” stated Mr Atiku. “I never had it in my life like this. Your excellency, words alone are not enough for me to describe how I feel today.”

He added, “I want to appeal to the good people of Bauchi state to support their governor. Give him all the support that he needs as you can see that if you give him the support. He will also serve you very well. He is not a governor that is actually ruling or governing you. He is a governor who is serving you.”

Mr Atiku also commended the Bauchi House of Assembly for supporting the governor even though it is controlled by an opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“It is a working opposition party. In other words, the development of the state is far more important to them than the differences in political beliefs,” added Mr Atiku. “Mr Speaker, I want you to convey my appreciation to members of the state assembly for the cooperation you have been giving to the governor, and I believe you will continue to give him.”

Your Big Grammers And Street Protests Wont Save Nigeria – Pastor Femi Emmanuel Tells Youths

The presiding Pastor of the Living Spring International Chapel, Femi Emmanuel has advised Nigerian youths to shun street protests.

He said they should rather participate in grassroots politics to save the country from political gladiators.

He further stated that political debates and analyses on the television, radio and newspapers cannot solve Nigeria’s problems until patriotic, God-fearing and productive Nigerians take over the mantles of offices at the ward levels.

Emmanuel revealed this in a video during a gathering where he spoke to his congregation as seen by reporters on Thursday.

The Christian cleric, who is a former Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, noted that those who really decide the fate of the country are at the local government politics as delegates to vote who lead at the central government.

“Nigerians, save Nigeria. Nigerians, wake up and save this country. This is the only country we have. Over 200 million of us cannot migrate to any country. They will close their gate against us. Nigerians, save Nigeria. And we cannot save Nigeria by protest, by marching on the road.

“It is high time our youths left the road because you can’t save Nigeria by marching. You cannot save Nigeria by speaking big English on television, and radio and newspapers. Those who decide the fate of Nigerians don’t read newspapers. They don’t listen to television debates. They don’t listen to the radio.

“Those who will save Nigeria are not locked up in churches praying, we have prayed enough. It is time for action. How would Nigeria be saved? Nigerians will be saved when good Nigerians, patriotic Nigerians, God-fearing Nigerians, educated Nigerians, productively-busy Nigerians will go to the grassroots politics of Nigeria,” Emmanuel said.

He reiterated that “Politics is at the grassroots. Politics is at the ward level. No amount of English, no amount of protest, no amount of prayer, no amount of fasting will take Nigeria back from evil and wicked politicians except we go there and flush them out. Politics is at the grassroots at the ward level. And that is what the political warlords have captured.

“They have arranged and mobilised their own people there to be the ward officers.

You will weep for Nigerians if you get to the ward level and see those who made decisions who you vote for. You will weep for Nigeria. They are the miserable, hungry, desperate, illiterate, ordinary people mobilised there by the politicians and funded. So that they can put their own people there. Now, those who decide who you vote for are at the ward level.”

Governor Ikpeazu To Drag Federal Government To Court Over Bad Roads In Abia State

Abia State government has said it will drag the president Buhari-led administration to court over it refusal to reconstruct bad roads in the state or refund monies spent by the state government in rehabilitating the roads.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu revealed this to newsmen at the Government Lodge at Aba in reaction to some criticisms of bad road network in the commercial city, lamented that the government has spent huge sums of funds in reconstructing many dilapidated federal roads, stressing that despite the state government’s efforts in fixing the roads, the federal government have not been forthcoming in refunding such monies spent.

Most of the roads that are bad in Abia State, he acknowledged are federal roads, with no visible plan by the federal authorities to rehabilitate them.

“We’ll first all seek the advice of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of our state including the counsel’s prominent lawyers because we feel that there’s a deliberate attempt by somebody somewhere to seize us by the jugular and squeeze breathe out of our lives.

“Otherwise, how can you refuse to build the roads that belong to you and at the same frustrate all efforts we’re making to fix them? You want to cut us off from the rest of the country because all the federal roads leading to other states from Abia are in terrible shape. We’re now in Siberia and it’s unacceptable to us”, the governor emphasized.

For instance, the Abia chief disclosed that the Ikot Ekpene Road leading to Akwa Ibom is in the state disrepair, the Port Harcourt Road linking Abia with Rivers State is seriously dilapidated, the Umuahia Ikot Ekpene Road is terribly bad, Ekeakpara Road that leads to Imo State is inaccessible, while the Azumini-Ukwa Road is impassable, wondering how a people who are completely cut off from their neighbours could survive under that condition.

Ikpeazu however disclosed that the state has begun the reconstruction and expansion of the Port Harcourt Road and pointed out that the government converted the road to six lanes in order to facilitate easy vehicular movements.

According to him, two of the lanes would be rehabilitated in the first phase of the reconstruction exercise, adding that the government has so far paid the contractor handling the project N3billion for the construction of one lane and would soon release more money for the second lane.

The Abia governor disclosed that so far 41 roads have been rehabilitated in the commercial city of Aba, confirming that some of the roads rehabilitated can last till 30 years because they were built with the rigid cement technology device.

On the failed portion of Faulks Road, Ikpeazu blamed the damaged Road on the activities of unpatriotic elements in the city who burnt some tires in December 2020 which led to damage some portions of it, even as he described as untrue the allegation by the opponents of his government that Abia State under his watch completed the failed road with the sum of N6billion.

On Ngwa, Obuohia and Ohanku Roads all in Aba, the Abia governor disclosed the state government’s partnership with the World Bank in reconstructing the roads is yielding positive results, saying that work is progressing on Ngwa Road, while Obuohia and Ohanku would be completed before the expiration of his administration.

He assured that the Osisioma Flyover Bridge would soon be completed, pointing out that the contractor handling the project has financially been mobilized and has returned to site.

Chidinma Ojukwu Sold Late Super TV Boss, Ataga’s Laptop To Me For N495,000 – Witness Tells Court

A businessman, Mr Ifeoluwa Oluwo, has narrated how the laptop of the murdered Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Michael Ataga, was sold to him for N495,000 by Chidinma Ojukwu two days after Ataga’s body was found.

Chidinma, a 300-level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos, was accused of killing Ataga.

The undergraduate and two others, Adedapo Quadri and Chioma Egbuchu, are undergoing trial before Justice Yetunde Adesanya of the Lagos State High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos State.

At the resumed hearing on Thursday, Oluwo, the third prosecution witness, was led in evidence by the Lagos State prosecuting counsel, Mr Yusuf Sule.

Oluwo said he sells phones, laptops, and accessories at Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos, and has been in the business for five years.

According to him, after seeing Chidinma on social media after the sale of the laptop, he immediately ensured that all her documents were kept handy.

The witness identified Chidinma as a customer who had purchased a phone on April 30 and also sold a laptop on June 18, at the same office.

Oluwo said, “On June 18, Chidinma sold me a MacBook Pro laptop for N495,000 after negotiations and market value comparison. In order to make a sale, you have to submit some documents and fill a form with your government identification card, driving license, international passport, voters’ card, and National Identification Number.

“You also have to fill a form which includes email, phone number, house address, and full name. It will also contain the full value of the item for that day, the name of the item, and the serial number of the item.

“This is what we do to contact a customer if there are any issues.

“I asked Chidinma to unlock the laptop and she did. So, I conducted my internal observation which included speed performance, the circle count of the battery, and general functionality.

“After that, I proceeded to ask questions, ‘Do you have a receipt for this laptop?’

“She stated that it was a gift from her boyfriend and that she had two laptops and needed to sell one to pay some bills.

“I conducted a check on a website for my market evaluation. I confirmed the value of the laptop. It was $1,000 to $1,200. The exchange rate of dollars at that time was N400 to N450 and she wanted to sell for N600,000. We were able to negotiate for N495,000, which I initiated from my UBA bank account to her Sterling bank account.”

When asked if Chidinma had produced the receipt of the laptop, Oluwo stated that she was not able to provide the receipt as she had insisted that it was a gift from her boyfriend.

“After the sale of the laptop, we saw her face on social media regarding a murder case. A few days later, the police from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, invited my manager, Olutayo Abayomi.

“When I got to the police station, I discovered that it was in connection to the laptop we bought from Chidinma on June 18.

“We both made a statement detailing how we came about the laptop and how we made the purchase.

“We gave the police the documents of the former owner, which included a copy of her voters’ card, a copy of our form, and all receipts which already have her information regarding the laptop.

“There is no way we can detect that a phone or laptop was a stolen one,” Oluwo said.

During cross-examination, Chidinma’s counsel, Onwuka Egbu, asked if he was shown any documents, receipts, or proof of ownership to show that the laptop was not for the first defendant at Panti but the witness said he was not shown any.

Justice Adesanya adjourned the case till November 29, for the continuation of trial.

Why Tinubu Should Step Down For Osinbajo To Succeed Buhari In 2023– APC

Even though Vice president, Yemi Osinbajo has not yet decleared his intentions to succed president Buhari in 2023, a support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated why he should succeed Buhari at the expiration of his tenure in 2023.

The group identified as Progressive Consolidated Group (PCG) who stated this in a statement by Barrister Emmanuel Pippain, said giving Osinbajo the mandate would be in the national interest

He explained that Osinbajo was fit for the number one job because of his level of familiarity with the vision, achievements and challenges being handled by President Buhari, and urged him to run.

“We are convinced that Osinbajo’s level of familiarity with the vision, achievements and challenges being handled by President Buhari is second to none and that such insight would enable a new APC administration to hit the ground running in 2023.

“We anticipate that various new and existing pro-Osinbajo platforms will become part of the group to which their focus appears more relevant,” the group said.

Women Who Give Birth In Government Hospitals Will Get N500 – Says Ikpeazu Abia State Governor

Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu says women who give birth in government health facilities in the southeast state will get N500 and a delivery pack.

According to him, the move became important since access to quality healthcare is not cheap.

“Abia State has keyed into the basic health insurance for pregnant women. If you put to bed in any of our primary healthcare centres, you get N500,”.

“Delivery is free; they give you a delivery pack and they give N500 which is running for the vulnerable members of the society.”

The governor, who further defended the move, said it is targeted at vulnerable and poor people and that the delivery pack contains items needed to take care of newborn babies.

“But if you want a certain level of medicare, you should be able to pay,” Ikpeazu noted, adding: “Are you asking a poor woman what she will do with N500? Some people don’t have it.”

While the money may be seen as little, the governor maintained that “at least it will pay their way back home.”

Petrol To Cost N340 Pa Litre – GMD of NNPC, Kyari Says

Malam Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, has said that subsidy would have been eliminated in 2020 but certain factors prevented it.

He, however, said that the law provides that by the end of February 2022, the nation should be out of the subsidy regime. He said this at the presentation of the World Bank Nigeria Development Update, November 2021 edition titled “Time for Business Unusual”.

Kyari assured that fuel subsidy removal would definitely be achieved in 2022 as it was now fully backed by law, adding that the price of the product may range between N320 and N340 per litre. On the hike in prices of cooking gas, he said that it was a demand and supply issue as there was a global crunch on supply of gas and many countries were now threatened by lack of supply in December.

He added that the product was not under any subsidy regime and therefore irrespective of where it was produced, would follow the global trend.

#EndSARS Panel Report: Hold Governor Sanwo-Olu Responsible If Anything Happens To Me – Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa Cries Out

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu and his Government have been accused by Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa of allerge threat to life

Since the submission of the report of the Lagos #EndSARS Panel, there have been lots of threats and attacks, by those suspected to be agents of the government, upon me, especially in the media.

I have not committed any crime beyond joining other eminent Nigerians with unblemished integrity, to accept the nomination of government on behalf of my constituency, the Nigerian Bar Association and the civil society and the indeed the masses of our people, for a national assignment.

Two prominent lawyers of the government have openly incited opinions against me on national television, with mindless accusations.

I have however refused to be intimidated or bend to the tactics of government to be silenced.

I urge the good people of Nigeria, my professional colleagues in the Nigerian Bar Association, my comrades in the civil rights movement and the people of Nigeria, to hold government responsible should anything happen to me.

Just last night, one of the prominent EndSARS protesters who testified before the Panel, Miss Kamsiyochukwu Ibe, was attacked and dealt serous machete blows, in what was clearly an attempted murder, as reported by her counsel, with very disturbing photos.

I heeded the clarion call to serve by the government with the honest believe that the Panel was meant to say the truth and nothing but the truth, which is what we have done. It is left for government and Nigerians to do the needful with the report of the Panel.

Oluwo Of Iwoland Urge Yoruba Traditional Rulers, Elders To Visit Buhari To Seek Sunday Igboho’s Release

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi has urged traditional rulers and elder statesmen in the South-West to plead with President Muhammadu Buhari, for the release of Yoruba secessionist leader, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho.

The paramount ruler stated that granting Igboho freedom without any condition will solidify the unity of Nigeria.

The Osun State monarch disclosed this in a statement made available to SaharaReporters on Sunday.

The Yoruba separatist leader, Igboho was arrested in July at an airport in the neighbouring Benin Republic, after being declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Nigeria.

He has since been incarcerated by the Beninese authorities despite moves by some prominent Yoruba figures to facilitate his freedom.

Akanbi’s call might have been inspired by the recent call by Igbo leaders during their visit to Buhari in Aso Villa, for the unconditional release of separatist agitator, Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Kanu is in the custody of the DSS as he is being tried for terrorism-related offences.

The monarch said, “The controversies surrounding the continuous detention of Sunday Igboho can be addressed should the Yoruba monarchs, elders and stakeholders be ready to take a walk to President Muhammed Buhari. Sunday Igboho is our son, he has made some mistakes which are realizable on the agitation for Yoruba nation.

“The approach is jeopardizing the intention. I urge stakeholders in Yoruba affairs to harmonize their interests, come together and approach the country’s leaders for the release of embattled Igboho.

“Granting such request will entrench the unity of Nigeria and foster a harmonious understanding. Only the federal government has the exclusive charisma to liberate the face of Yoruba nation agitator at this critical time. Our son must be rescued. Releasing Igboho without recourse to legal lingering litigation will earn the government credit. It is a credit of maturity and unity.”

I Deserve The N250million More Than Those Orphans – Singer BabaFryo Tackles Davido

Popular Nigerian singer BabaFryo has comdernmed Davido for donating N250million he got from friends and fans for his birthday to Orphanage homes across Nigeria.

It’s no longer news that the ‘If’ singer has won the heart of many after he donated N250 million to Orphans, while the father of three is being celebrated by many, the “Dem go dey pose” veteran Ajegunle singer took to his social media handle to tackle Davido

Baba Fryo, opined that he was disappointed that the singer neglected him, ‘a known face’, in his trying times, only to gift unknown orphans N250m.

He said, “There is something that I have been seeing on social media that someone gifted orphanages N250m. To me, the thing is funny. I remember when I was depressed, they tagged many of my colleagues; they tagged Davido, Tuface, and others but none of them responded. It was people that have never seen me in this life, people that do not know me that responded.

“This N200m that I am hearing about and seeing on social media is surprising to me. If someone like me who is popular and well known was not helped, it is people and orphanages that no one knows that is being helped; they are been given N250m, it is so funny. I will advise Nigerians and Black people to be wise and stop all these things.

“White people do not do all these things. All what we are doing will look so funny to them. I am not saying that giving money to orphanages is a bad thing because I am an ambassador to an NGO that I do not collect a dime from. But funny enough, when I was depressed and had problems, the NGO did not respond. You see how we are. Now I am seeing N200m and they are posting it everywhere; Davido gives money to orphanages and inaugurates a five-man committee to distribute that money. Everything sounds funny to me.

“If I see someone doing good, I appreciate them; I am not saying it is a bad thing. I just want to ask people why someone like me that people know, who cried out; why did they not help the person that they know? It is the people that they do not know or can see their faces that they are helping out with N250m. Let’s all think; will we call that wickedness or ignorance?

I tagged the Delta, Rivers and Lagos State government, none of them came to my aid. Is that wickedness or ignorance? But today I am seeing that N250m is going to be distributed to orphanages all over Nigeria. I will advise Nigerians to open their eyes.”

Update: No Body Part Of Deceased OAU Student Is Missing – Owner Of Oduduwa University, Rahman Speaks From Cell

Timothy Oludare, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) student at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State.

Adedoyin, who is currently detained by Osun State Police Command, was accused of involvement in the death of Adegoke alongside a staff of the hotel, Adedeji Adesola.

The accused person said he did not connive with his workers or anyone to kill the student.

He claimed he first heard about Adegoke when the police declared him missing.

Adegoke was in Ife from October 22nd to October 24th; October 29th to October 31st; and had also planned to stay from November 5th to November 7th, 2021.

He was said to have frequented the town to take MBA examinations scheduled at intervals.

However, he was said to have been reported missing since he checked in at the hotel on Friday, November 5 preceding his examinations scheduled for Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7.

Reacting, Adedoyin said he worked hard for his wealth, urging people not to tag him as a “money ritualist or murderer.”

In a voice note shared, the hotel owner appealed to the public to await police investigation on the matter.

He said, “I, Rahmon Adedoyin is not a murderer or money ritualist. God already blessed and enriched me since I was 26 years old and up till now that I am 65 years old.

“I have never killed anyone. I am a devout Muslim. Adegoke lodged at Hilton Hotel, Room 305. The hotel officials that lodged him did not pay any money in his name into the hotel’s account.

“There was also no record that he paid into the hotel’s WEMA Bank account. I don’t know how he was given a room without making payment into the official account of the company. I don’t know why they decided to receive the payment into their personal account.

“I was only informed that something like that happened at the Hilton Hotel when police started searching for Timothy.

“When they (police) investigated and found where Timothy’s corpse was dumped, senior police officers checked his body and confirmed that no part of his body was missing, so it is clear that no one asked them to get any of his body parts.

“I appeal to everyone to be patient and allow the police to do their work and thorough investigation. I had my humble beginning from Ile-Ife. I started as a home lesson teacher, started universal college of tech, a polytechnic and then university.

“I never left Ile-Ife before God blessed me and made me rich. My wealth is pure. I am not spending blood money.”

Meanwhile, the Osun State Police Command on Thursday said no part of the deceased missed when the corpse was exhumed.

Featuring during a programme monitored on Fresh FM, in Osogbo on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, also said Adedoyin was arrested after investigation revealed that the late Adegoke checked into the facility before he was declared missing.

Opalola, who also claimed the corpse of the deceased was exhumed in the presence of his family members, said the remains were later deposited at the morgue of Obafemi Awolowo University, Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife for autopsy
