While, it was indeed a, One Man, One Mic, One Stage event with comedian Acapella as promised on 29th of October 2017 at the Shell Hall Muson Center Onikan Lagos. It was also a night of glitz and glamour, a night to remember as one man took everybody by storm with his ever first comedy show outside the church. 

Known for his annual comedy show “Acapella Comedy Goes To Church”, but this time he was Acapella in a different dimension. Soon, the event hall, was filled to the brim, as fans of the abia born comedian, were gathered in their thousands,  at about 7pm, the show started, dressed in an all white ensemble with a gold crested microphone, Acapella who mounted the stage got the crowd laughing and rolling for one straight hour none stop. 

The event had the presence of great personalities from all spheres of entertainment industry, such as Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, Julius Agwu, Julieth Ibrahim and her man, Ice Berg Slim, Funny Bone, Pencil,  Akpororo, Pastor Goody Goody etc. Music was by former Five Star act, now AlterPlate Music label boss Harrysong, and other top Nigerian music stars and Djs. The host of the night was, Okey Bakassi and OAP Ore, better known as Oreginal of  Lagos Talk fm, while the event was packaged by Purple Roof entertainment.

Singer Mr. 2Kay Robbed At Gun Point In His Hotel Room At Eko Hotel After Buckwyld and Breathless Concert

Nigerian singer, Mr. 2Kay was robbed at gun point in his hotel room at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. LIB gathered that the incident happened at about 11pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017, during the Buckwyld and Breathless concert where he also performed.

It was gathered  that the robbers were 4 in number, they gained access into Mr. 2Kay’s room after he mistook one of them for room service. They forced their way into his room and waved a gun with threats to shoot him if he made a noise.

Confirming the robbery, James Silas, Manager of Grafton Records said, 'I was quite shocked when I got to Mr. 2Kay’s room last night. This was somebody I watched perform some minutes before the incident. Anyway, the hotel authorities and police are already investigating the incident and we hope they’ll apprehend the criminals as soon as possible'.

Mr. 2Kay, who was in the room with a friend, struggled with one of the robbers, as the others punched and hit him with a gun, repeatedly warning that they will shoot if he doesn’t calm down. One of the robbers led and locked 2Kay’s friend in the bathroom, while the others tied the singer’s arms, legs and mouth and took his valuables including jewelry, clothes, perfumes, phones, and money. They also cut the room’s intercom (phone) to avoid any form of communication as they left the hotel.

The hotel authorities and police have taken statements for investigation, while Mr. 2Kay is getting medical attention for his wounds.

Nollywood Actress, Funke Abisogun AlHassan, who gave birth to a newborn baby a few days ago has sadly died. Her husband, Taofiq Alhassan announced a few days ago that she had given birth to a baby. Sadly yesterday evening, her friend announced that she had passed on.

"Why do you have to leave me alone and my three children?" - Wife Mourns Husband That Was Killed By Police Officers In Anambra

Owoeye Folayemi Mary, the wife of the man killed by some police officers in Anambra on Friday, took to Facebook to mourn her late husband.

"One question no answer uzor Why.why do u have to live me alone and my three children. I love u soo much my husband Rlp uzor" she captioned her post.

The victim, who has been identified as Uzor, a father of three, was shot dead by some police officers at Tarzan junction, Nkpor along the popular Enugu-Onitsha expressway after he refused to stop and be searched. Police later claimed they found bags of weed in his car.

Popular Kano-based Priest Quits Catholic Church

A popular Kano based Catholic priest Father Gospel .J. Inalegwu, has quit the Catholic Church. The Benue born priest, who was ordained in 2013, was kidnapped last year at his parish at St Joseph Catholic Church, Jitan – Dutse, in Tudun Wada Local Government Council, Kano State.

According to Sunday Sun, Father Gospel .J. Inalegwu had since tendered his resignation letter to the Bishop of Kano Diocese, Most Rev. John Namawzah Niyiring and had traveled out of the state with all his belongings.

A priest of the Catholic Church who decried his action, said the Church was yet to recover from the shock of his unprecedented action.

He suggested that the priest might have been affected by the trauma of his abduction, adding however that, “there could be other personal reasons behind his action”.

Sunday Sun gathered that after the priest regained freedom, he was granted a period of rest, but was eventually asked to resume at his old parish contrary to his expectation, as Sunday Sun learnt that he had anticipated to be posted elsewhere.

The Communications Director, Kano Diocese, Father Augustine Nnadi declined comment on the development, but His Lordship, the Bishop of Kano Diocese, Most Rev. John Namawzah Niyiring told Sunday Sun that, “Priests do not resign as they do in the public service, but are laicized”

While confirming that Father Inalegwu was no longer available for his pastoral assignments in the diocese, he maintained that the only authority that could process the request of a priest wishing to return to a lay status was the Holy Father, the Pope. Asked if he had tried to talk to the priest, he replied:

“Yes I did that. I had some discussions with him to try to persuade him not to do what he is doing. I think he probably wants something else.”

The Bishop debunked insinuations that the priest’s action was informed by his abduction experience.

“Long before his kidnap saga, he had voiced out his desire to do what he did. And we have a record of that” he said.

For Touching Another Man's Hip In Dubia, British Man Sentence To Three Month In Jail

Jamie  Harron, a British man, has been sentenced to three months in prison in Dubai for touching a man's hip inside a bar.

He was arrested in July over the incident in which he said he put his hand on a man's hip to avoid spilling a drink in a crowded bar.  The 27-year-old electrician had been working in Afghanistan and was on a two-day stopover in the United Arab Emirates at the time.

A campaign group called Detained in Dubai (DiD) said he was sentenced to three months imprisonment at court on Sunday but lawyers plan to appeal. The group said Harron is "angry, disappointed, and dreads what may happen next". 

He is not currently in custody while the appeal is considered, DiD chief executive Radha Stirling said. Harron has already been sentenced in absentia to 30 days in prison for failing to appear at a court hearing for making a rude gesture and drinking alcohol during the same July incident.

All Progressives Congress, APC, spokes person, Bolaji Abdullahi, has reacted to the statement made by former President Goodluck Jonathan that the ruling party runs a government of lies and propaganda. Recall that the former president while receiving one of the chairmanship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof Tunde Adeniran at his private residence in Abuja on Thursday, said that the PDP did well for the country when it was in power for 16 years but that the APC has failed the country as it is a government of lies and hi-tech propaganda.

Reacting to Jonathan's comment, Abdullahi who served as a Minister during Jonathan's government said:

“I doubt that President Jonathan actually said these words you have reported because he would be exposing himself to reactions that would not be edifying of his status as a statesman by so doing. Secondly, I know the former President to be of even temperament. Only a few days ago, I read that he was counseling his party on the choice of Chairman and Publicity Secretary. Statements like these wouldn’t represent an example of the kind of attitude he was canvassing. But if he truly said that, I would say with due respect that he may need to commission a more dispassionate study of how and why APC won the 2015 Presidential election. To say that APC won the election simply by deceiving the people would be too simplistic and may even be interpreted as an insult to the millions of Nigerians that voted the APC into power”

Many things inspire me. This video has just joined the lot. This right here is one reason I detest dashing money to full grown adults, who hang around event venues and think they deserve a slice of what you worked hard to earn. They call you stingy and mean for not encouraging their laziness. As you may know, they actually feel they are entitled to beg and think that you are mandated to give. The reason they are on the increase is because we feed their expectations and sustain their bad habits.

There is this one, a tall, lanky grey bearded one that wears an oversized jacket always, I have known him to beg since 1998!!!! And every time I talk to him he says the same thing... "bros work no dey anywhere". Since 98!!!! Stop encouraging laziness. Your generosity toward such lazy people don't count as charity. A friend advised his cousin, who came to beg for a 50k loan, to pick up a job as fuel attendant at a new Petrol Station in Lekki.

She even added that she would put in a word for him since she was the account officer to the owner. The cousin didn't tell her yes or no, It was the cousin's mum that called her to ask her what she meant by telling her son to go start selling fuel. One of the neighbours who the mum had complained to before calling to blast her, was to later meet her one Sunday after church service, to ask for the attendant's job. She called the owner and luckily there was an opening. Interestingly, the opening came up because one of the attendants left for Youth Service in Ebonyi. Meanwhile Mr Cousin, a SCHOOL cert holder, is too big to sell fuel. You people should continue encouraging nonsense and still be wondering where we got it wrong

'News Of A Youth Corper Having Twins For Me Is False' - Governor Amosun

Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun today broke his silence about the news of a lady on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who was rumoured to have had twins for him in less than a year ago.

The governor said the rumour gained so much buzz that his mother-in-law had to call him to confirm if what she heard about a ‘second wife’ having twins was true or not. 

Amosun who debunked the rumour as “concoction of idiots” at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, during a town hall meeting of stakeholders for the 2018 Budget preparation, said no lady or girlfriend had twins for him. 

The meeting was organized by the state’s Ministry of Budget and Planning for the purpose of collecting the inputs of all stakeholders and build them into the preparation of the 2018 Executive Appropriation Bill but Amosun used the avenue to clear the air on rumours being circulated against him. 

He said has been married to his wife, Mrs Olufunso Amosun, in the last 26 years and had never kept a girlfriend, let alone having one that delivered twins for him, adding that the twins issue also got to the notice of his wife. 

The governor also vowed to smoke out those peddling rumours and falsehood against him, saying he would send them to jail where they rightly belonged.  He noted that those purveyors of falsehood could beat James Hadley Chase in “fiction concoctions"

Davido's friend, Tagbo Umeike who died from suffocation and alcohol poisoning on the eve of his birthday at Shisha Lounge in Lekki, Lagos on October 2, has been buried.

He was buried on Friday, October 20, 2017 at his family compound at Osumenyi, Anambra State.

Davido was however absent at the burial ceremony. The pop star who had cancelled several of his shows as a result of the death of friends resumed his tour today and was at the Palace of Oba Ewuare II of Benin Kingdom who celebrated the first year anniversary of his coronation.

Jubilation In Imo State As Notorious Armed Robber Was Killed By Police

There was wild jubilation at the Imo state police command yesterday as police officers celebrated the death of a 27-year-old notorious armed robber, Ihechi Nwankwo, who had been terrorizing the state for a very long time.

According to the state police public relations officer, Andrew Enwerem, the suspect who hails from Amaumara in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of the state, had been on their wanted list for a long time. He was accused of masterminding a lot of armed robbery attacks in the state.

In an interview with Southern City News, Enwerem said the slain suspect was involved in robbing a bank customer of N8m at Access Bank at Ahiara Junction on August 8th. He also robbed one Jovita Enwerem of N650,000 at gunpoint at Ahiara Junction on June 21st. In May, Ihechi also attacked and disposed a Chinese expatriate of N10 million in Owerri and killed the expatriate's security officer. On how Ihechi was killed, Enwerem said

“On September 28, the state police command control room was alerted to a robbery attack along Wetheral Road, Owerri. A customer of the Wetheral Road branch of Zenith Bank had gone to the bank to withdraw N50m. On their way, along Wetheral Road, they were confronted by a daredevil armed robbery gang operating with a grey colour Toyota Corolla with number plate ABJ 951AA that blocked the convoy and immediately opened fire on the police escorts.”

“The criminals escaped from the robbery scene but their vehicle was riddled with bullets. We, however, contacted police in the neighboring states to be on the lookout. Subsequently, the criminals were intercepted in Umuahia, Abia State, where they engaged the operatives in a gun duel. One of the gang members was gunned down while the others escaped with bullet injuries and the ash colored Toyota Corolla car was also recovered.”

Enwerem said three policemen, however, sustained gunshot injuries and were already being treated in the hospital.

The force spokesperson added that the elder brother of the slain robber, 42-year old Chibuike Nwankwo and one Chukwudi Obinwanne, a native of Ugiri in Isiala Mbano LGA of the state, are currently in police custody for carrying out bank robbery.
