SARS operatives led by CSP. Bokah Audu recovered a Toyota Hummer bus with reg number MKD 633 ZN and Benue Links body number LV 1277, which was reported robbed at gunpoint on November, around Austoma Filling Station Aliade, at Kawo -Kaduna-Zaria road.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, November 28, by the spokesperson for Benue State Police Command, ASP. Moses Joel Yamu, the suspects had contacted police to report the vehicle stolen.
The following suspects were arrested in connection with the crime:
a. Asen Ahularza -Driver of the vehicle who reported the vehicle robbed.
b. Mathew Atsenga - Suspect who received the vehicle at Aliade.
c. Victor Jam and Suuter Ichol both drivers with Benue Links.
d. Babatunde Kolawole -Painter who painted the vehicle all white and.
e. Bala Jagaba -Conductor whose possession the vehicle was recovered.
Investigation so far, revealed that the first four suspects conspired amongst themselves to stage a robbery incident so they could sell the vehicle and share the proceed, as confessed by Mathew Atsenga.
Suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
