Rwanda Shuts Down '700 unsafe and noisy churches'
About 700 churches have been closed down in Rwanda for failing to comply with building regulations and for noise pollution.
Most of them are small Pentecostal churches and one mosque was also closed. A government official told the BBC that some of the more than 700 buildings shut down have already reopened after they were aproved by inspectors.

Medical Doctor Arrested Over Death Of DPO In Lagos
The Lagos State police command has arrested a medical practitioner for the death of a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the state. According to reports, the deceased, a former DPO in Igando area of the state, was redeployed to Amuwo Odofin police post. Late last year, the DPO was injured in his arm during a faceoff with some hoodlums. He was said to be treating the dislocation in a traditional clinic, but the wound did not heal.

Popular Controversial South African self-styled prophet who sprayed his followers with insecticide has been found guilty of assault.
According to local media report, Pastor Lethebo Rabalago who is widely known as the Doom Pastor was also found guilty of contravening the Agricultural Stock Remedies Act, a court ruling said.
Rabalago claims the insect repellent he used in 2016 could heal cancer and HIV. A sentence is yet to be handed down after the verdict by Mookgopong Magistrates Court in Limpopo province.
On Friday, magistrate Frans Mahodi told the court the state had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt that the five people who laid assault charges were violated, South Africa's national broadcaster SABC reports.
The magistrate said the fact that the complainants "were sprayed on their faces with Doom makes this offence [the] worst of its kind". He also revealed some of them had suffered "detrimental side effects... like coughing for more than seven months" after the incident. Rabalago - who run the Mount Zion General Assembly was arrested after it emerged he had used the product to "cure" his followers of various ailments in 2016.

Lagos State Police Arrest Couple For Running Baby Factory
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a couple on Treasure Palace Close, in the Igando area of the state, for allegedly harbouring pregnant women and selling newborn babies.
The couple – Adeola Adebayo, 50 ; and 40- year - old Binta Adebayo – were arrested on Sunday by operatives of the Federal Special Anti -Robbery Squad of the command.
Three heavily pregnant women reportedly took into illegal custody by the couple were also freed by the police.
They were identified as Favour Osikwemeh, 19; Precious Emmanuel, 27; and 25- year - old Onome Oputi.
The police alleged that the couple had sold several babies and had planned to exploit the expectant mothers upon delivery.
Osikweme, who is seven- month pregnant, said a friend, Lepa, took her to Binta in December 2017 to stay with the woman until she put to bed.
She explained that Binta had yet to acquaint her with the plan to sell her unborn baby.
She said, “I was not told it is a baby factory. I was staying with my friend called Lepa. She told me that her apartment was too small and she took me to the woman’s house to give birth to my child.
“I have been with the woman since December 2017. She ( Binta ) told my mum that I was working for her, but we didn’ t negotiate payment for my child. ”
Emmanuel said she was pregnant for a foreigner, adding that her sister introduced her to the baby factory.
“ My sister took me to the woman after I was impregnated by a foreigner. The woman then promised to settle me as soon as I am delivered of my baby, ” she said.
When paraded on Tuesday at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja, Adeola said he was not aware his wife ran a baby factory, claiming that they were not living together.
He said, “The police arrested us for running a baby factory , but I don ’t know anything about it. I was arrested in front of my house. The police interrogated the pregnant women who told them that I didn ’t know anything about it."
Binta, who also identified herself as Nene Okoro, said the pregnant women were workers in a shop where she sold drinks wholesale.
She said, “I am not running any baby factory. I have never sold any baby. Two of the three women only helped me with my business. They help me sell drinks at the shop. They don ’t stay with me.
“The other woman ( Oputi) is my daughter- in - law, and she has been living with me for over four years. She is my son ’s wife who is now in Cameroon and she has two children for him. If I sold babies, how come I didn’ t sell my two grandchildren ?”
The state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said the suspects usually sold children without their mothers’ consent, adding that they would be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons for prosecution.
He said, “They harboured young pregnant ladies until they are delivered of their babies. Afterwards, these babies are taken from them and sold without the consent of the young mothers.
“During the raid , three young women were rescued. They are Favour Osikwemeh, 19, ( seven months pregnant), Precious Emmanuel, 27 , ( seven months pregnant) , and Onome Oputi , 25 , ( nine months pregnant ).
“The victims will be handed over to NAPTIP for care, while the couple will be prosecuted.”
Rochas Orders Imo Workers To Return To Their Offices, Says Recession Has Ended
Rochas Okorocha the Imo State Governor, has proscribed the three-day work policy his government propagated for the civil servants in the state.
Okorocha disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the Government House, Owerri, on his preparation to celebrate seven years of free education and 42 years since the creation of Imo State.
It will be recalled that in 2016, Okorocha’s policy reduced the weekly five working days to three to enable civil servants use two days to invest in agriculture.
The governor’s reason for reverting the policy is because recession has ended. He added that, “From March 1st, the normal five days work policy will take effect.”
On the issue of 2019 gubernatorial election, Okorocha was of the view that he would not support Ifeanyi Ararume.
According to him, “There are people who I can’t support, like Araraume. I heard that Ikedi Ohakim, is coming out to contest for governor, and he said he he was coming for just one term.
” Let me tell you people, Ohakim is angry with Imo people and he is coming out for vengeance. He will come and pack for generations unborn. Listen, he is not happy with Imo people.
“What I want is for Imo people to show me the person and I will support that person who will be our governor. They say the Deputy governor, Prince Eze Madumere, wants to contest and Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu wants to contest.
“I think Chike Okafor also wants to contest but I have not made up my mind who to support. I am waiting for Imo people to choose.
“What I do not want is somebody who is wicked or a 419 person to be governor of Imo state. I do not want somebody who does not have a forgiving spirit to be Imo governor. There are qualities we are looking for in the person that will be governor of this state.”
However, the governor mentioned the names of those he had declared his support for and the positions they are vying for which included the present Commissioner for Information, Nnamdi Obiaraeri for Imo North Senatorial position and Ugonna Ozuigbo, for Njaba /Nwangele/Isu/Nkwerre Federal constituency.”
Speaking on the controversial Ministry of Happiness and Purpose Fulfilment, headed by Okorocha’s younger sister, Ogechi Ololo, he said the ministry would be overseeing the issue of job employment, justice and fairness; special citizens, senior citizens, conflict resolution, public complaints among others.

Nollywood Actor, Moses Armstrong Lost Wife In A fatal Auto Crash
Nigerian Actor who was recently appointed as a Special Adviser to Akwa Ibom State governor on Agriculture, Moses Armstrong, has lost his wife, Rita (fondly called Mummy Timaro) in a fatal auto crash.
According to reports, the accident occurred on Saturday along the Lagos-Benin Expressway. Rita, who was also a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, left behind two children.

“We Have Terminated Our Contract with Sony” – Tinny Entertainment Speaks On the Ycee and Sony Music Saga
After several months of embarrassing social media exchanges, Tinny Entertainment; home of Nigerian rapper Ycee has finally released an official statement on the rappers unending fiasco with Michael Ugwu ; Head of Sony Music Africa.
Tinny Entertainment had penned a deal with Sony Music Africa in October 2016, but about a year later, Ycee went on twitter blow-outs, calling out the organization and it’s executive for allegedly milking out his proceeds and exploiting his career. He further stated that SONY tried to ruin his career but he survived only because he had a backup plan.
In a statement that has just been released on the official website of the label, Tinny Entertainment disclosed that they had inked a distribution deal with Sony Music Africa to help push Ycee’s music globally but the said deal was terminated on the 5th of December, 2017.

Tinny Entertainment signed a license and distribution deal with Sony Africa for the distribution of some of YCEE’s music globally, in the hope that SONY AFRICA would take their music to the next level.
“We would like to state officially that we terminated our contract with SONY through our lawyers, Olaniwun Ajayi LP, by a letter dated 5 December 2017.
Henceforth, we are the sole owners of the copyright in any and all of our music and can exploit our music on any and every platform.
We have realized that it is best to undertake the distribution of our records by ourselves, as a Record Label and that Made in Nigeria across board, is the only way to be above board.”
As a Label, we are pushing out great music this year starting with “Say Bye Bye,” “I Wish” and our YCEE and Bella Collabo EP, “Late Night Vibrations.”
