It said that Ogun, Oyo, Ibadan, Osun, and Kwara region would be affected by the power outage.

2023: Outcome Of PDP Presidential Primaries Will Shock Many — Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said that the outcome of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries will astound Nigerians.

He said whoever that emerges of all the aspirants should be rest assured that the entire party would rally round and make sure that he wins the 2023 presidential election.

Governor Wike, while speaking in Port Harcourt on Sunday, said the comment by former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, that he would always clinch the party ticket could amount to taking convention delegates for granted.

“I didn’t expect him frankly speaking, to say that he will always take the ticket of the party. That is going too far and taking the delegates for granted,” Wike said.

Governor Wike said he is committed to doing anything that would ensure PDP returns to power in 2023 and begins the process of rebuilding the nation after years of  the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) poor governance.

The Rivers State governor, who urged PDP members to resist making divisive utterances, declared that the outcome of the party’s presidential election would shock many.

He added that “People should watch, there will be shock as far as PDP convention is concerned. People should watch what is going to happen. People like to underrate so many persons and it is not good in politics.”

Speaking on the timetable just released by the Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC) over the weekend, Governor Wike expressed confidence that the National Executive Committee (NWC) of the PDP will ensure the party abides by the timetable.

“We are a law abiding party. The party will soon meet, the NEC will meet and find the way forward on how we will put our house in order  and make sure we religiously follow the timetable of INEC without violating any provision of the law and guidelines that INEC may have produced,” he said.

Governor Wike commended PDP leadership in Plateau, Cross River and Ondo States for the sterling performance of the party in Saturday’s bye election.

He attributed the victory of the PDP in the Jos North/Bassa federal constituency in Plateau State to the recent decision of the former Plateau State governor, Jonah Jang and former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Jeremiah Useni, to set aside their differences and work for the interest of the party.

Governor Wike also lauded the PDP for winning the Akpabuyo State Constituency bye-election in Cross River State, irrespective of the violence unleashed by the APC government in the State.

He further commended the former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, and other leaders of the party for the impressive performance of the party in Saturday’s bye election.

According to him, the prospect of the party in the 2023 general election remains bright.

Meanwhile, Governor Wike has disclosed that his administration will soon award contract for the construction of two more flyovers in Port Harcourt.

The Rivers State governor explained that as part of his legacy to provide infrastructure that would improve the quality of life of the people and the economy of the state, he would soon award contract for the construction flyovers at Rumuokwuta junction and Location junction along NTA-Mgbuoba by Ada George road.

The two additional flyovers would be the 12th to be awarded by Governor Wike’s administration since 2019.

Already, six have been completed and currently in use, the rest are at advance stages of completion.

N5,000 Buhari’s Government Is Giving Nigerians Brings So Much Happiness To Them – Femi Adesina Says

President Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina has said the N5,000 Conditional Cash Transfer given to poor and vulnerable Nigerians by the Muhammadu Buhari regime brings much joy to beneficiaries, notwithstanding criticisms.

Mr Adesina, made this statement in an article published on his Facebook page where he listed out the Buhari regime’s “kind” gesture delivered to Nigerians through the Ministry of Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.

“There is a National Social Register, which had over 46 million Nigerians on enrollment as at January 2022. Under CCT, the sum of N5,000 is paid to the poor and vulnerable monthly. Over 1,632,480 households are benefiting from that already,” Mr Adesina said.

“Just N5,000 only, some people may say in derision, with their noses turned skyward. But for a person who possibly has not owned half of that amount, to now receive it monthly, it is sheer bliss. That is why they are called poor and vulnerable,” he added.

While describing Mr Buhari as a leader who loves the poor and is loved by 12 million poor Nigerian who are always ready to support him during elections, Mr Adesina added that “in 2019, having put on his thinking cap on how he could further be of help to the poor, the weak and vulnerable, the President established the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.”

Mr Adesina’s statement comes as Nigerians are lamenting worsening economic hardship and insecurity, with Mr Buhari promising but failing repeatedly to contain the crises, while plunging the country into huge debt.

Under Mr Buhari’s watch, Nigeria displaced India to become world’s poverty capital in 2018, according to report by Brookings Institution.

“At the end of May 2018, our trajectories suggest that Nigeria had about 87 million people in extreme poverty, compared with India’s 73 million. What is more, extreme poverty in Nigeria is growing by six people every minute, while poverty in India continues to fall,” the report reads in part.

The regime said it has lifted 10.5 million Nigerians out of poverty, but the World Bank said seven million Nigerians dropped below the poverty line due to worsening inflation in the country in 2020.

Rising inflation rates have sent prices of food and commodities through the roof, as the nation’s central bank battles foreign exchange crises.

In the last three weeks, fuel scarcity due to importation of adulterated fuel into the country, has disrupted economic activities across the country.

Lagosians Should Get Free Pass To Heaven For Enduring Traffic — Governor, El-Rufai Says

Nigerians who have lived in Lagos for years should be given a “free pass to heaven” because of the traffic congestion they face daily, Nasir el-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna state, has said.

The Governor said in Abuja, while explaining why he adopted the four-day working week in his state.

According to him, “The benefits are that people rest more; they have more family time; they have more leisure time and they spend more money. It is better for the economy.

For those that are interested in doing side businesses like farming, you have more time. When people rest more, they are more productive when they come on Monday. They do much more work. Most people are tired on Thursdays anyway; let’s be realistic.

I don’t know how people in Lagos survive. Everyday, four hours in traffic for five days. I don’t know if Saturdays and Sundays are enough for them to rest.

That is why I feel that all those that have lived in Lagos for 20 years should just go straight to heaven because they have already lived in h#ll. Honestly, they have paid their dues so they should just be given free pass.” the statement reads.

”Politics apart, whenever we are made to swear by the Holy Quran, we have to be very careful. We must make sure that we do not abuse the trust God has given us as leaders.

South- South APC Lawmakers Endorse Yahaya Bello For President For 2023 Presidential Election

Forum of members of state Houses of Assembly in the South-South zone of the country on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress has endorsed governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for Presidency in 2023.

The legislators decided to stress the support of the zone separately, in Calabar, a few days after APC legislators from all zones declared their support for the governor and also passed a vote of confidence in the chairman of the party’s Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State.

Rising from its extraordinary meeting held in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, on Monday, the forum pointed out that it would be the best decision for the leadership of APC to zone the presidency to North-Central in the spirit of fairness and justice.

The legislators, elected by the people of Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivers states, agreed that the North-Central had been marginalised since the nation gained Independence, adding that allowing it to produce the next president would be fair.

The lawmakers commended President Buhari for his purposeful leadership and also eulogised governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade, for promptly connecting the state to the centre and for being the first in the South- South geopolitical zone.

They passed a vote of confidence in the Buni-led Caretaker Committee, pointing out that it had helped in no small way to grow the party and attract eminent Nigerians into its fold.

A communique issued by the forum read,“That the APC State Assembly Legislators thank His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Professor (Sir) Ben Ayade for promptly connecting the state to the centre and for, indeed, being the first in the South-South geopolitical zone.

“That the APC State Assembly Legislators of the South- South, who were elected by the people of the six states that make up the geopolitical zone believe that the best thing for our party as we approach the 2023 general elections is to give room for marginalised zones to produce the next president. Consequently, we appeal to the national leadership of our party, the APC, to zone the presidency to North-Central for fairness and sense of belonging to prevail.

“We hereby state that we agree to support our colleagues in the North-Central to contest for the position of the president of Nigeria in 2023 – which is a position that the zone had hitherto been deprived of since Nigeria became independent in 1960.

“That the APC State Assembly Legislators of the South- South commended President Muhammadu Buhari (GFCR) for his purposeful leadership and urge him to continue his good works toward turning the country around for good.

“That the APC State Assembly Legislators of the South-South commended the Governor Mai Mala Buni Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee for its hard work in ensuring the consistent growth of the party, which has attracted thousands of eminent Nigerians into the party.”

“That we have painstakingly brainstormed on the political developments in our party, the All Progressives Congress, vis-a-vis the need for Nigeria to chart a course to a more secure and prosperous country and have therefore decided to throw our weight behind the presidential bid of the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.”

Breaking: Update: Court Rejects Abba Kyari’s Request For Bail To Travel For Medical Treatment

Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has refused to order the Federal Government to release the detained Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari, from the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The judge rather ordered that Kyari put the Federal Government on notice of the existence of the suit he instituted against it.

The suspended DCP had taken the Federal Government before the court, challenging his continued detention by the agency. In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/182/22, Kyari sought an order of the court to immediately release him and in the alternative, the suspended DCP, who is being held by the NDLEA over his alleged involvement in hard drug trafficking, asked the court to admit him to bail in liberal conditions.

In an ex-parte application by his counsel, Cynthia Ikena, Kyari claimed to be suffering from diabetes and hypertension and needs urgent medical attention.

In a brief ruling, Justice Ekwo declined to order his immediate release but ordered him to put the respondent( FG), on notice. The judge ordered him to go and serve all processes he filed on the Federal Government.

Justice Ekwo held that all averments and allegations made against the Federal Government are weighty that the court must give the government the opportunity to hear from it before taking any step. He, thereafter, fixed February 24 for the parties to appear before him.

However, both parties are yet to reach to this report.

We hope to bring you more details of this

How Embattled Super Abba Kyari, And His Team Allegedly Seized N3billion Worth Of Tramadol Without Telling NDLEA

More trouble appears to be looming for the suspended Commander of the now-disbanded Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), DCP Abba Kyari, as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) launches a probe of the seizure of a large consignment of Tramadol, an illegal drug, in Lagos.

The alleged seizure, it was learnt, was not disclosed to the agency.

According to Vanguard, NDLEA during the weekend commenced the probe as those close to Kyari in the police were believed to be worried that more alleged illegalities linked to the team led by the police officer may be uncovered.

The once-celebrated officer was arrested last week after the NDLEA busted a drug ring operating the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria route.

The agency alleged that he was a member of the syndicate and went ahead to ask a court to extend his detention to facilitate investigation into the activities of his team.

Sources close to the NDLEA said that the Kyari-led team had been linked to the alleged seizure of a large consignment of Tramadol in a warehouse at the Amuwo-Odofin area of Lagos.

It was gathered that the consignment, was worth N3 billion and it was imported into Nigeria by an individual who claimed to be a pharmacist.

IRT, it was learnt, allegedly got wind of the consignment and stormed the warehouse where the illegal drug was stocked, leading to the seizure.

Multiple sources at the NDLEA said the agency ordinarily should have been told of the alleged seizure which was said to have taken place last year, saying the Abba Kyari team did not inform the agency of the development.

“What this means is that the IRT may have sold the consignment of Tramadol to a cartel after storming the Amuwo Odofin warehouse and seizing the Tramadol,” one of the sources said.

“We have launched a probe into the case with a view to getting to the root of the matter,” the source added.

Embattled Super Cop, Abba Kyari To Know Fate On Monday As NDLEA, Seeks Court Order To Extend Detention

The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court will on Monday decide the fate of the embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, and four other suspects involved in the 25-kilogramme cocaine deal.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency had filed an application in the court for the extension of the detention of the suspects.

The 1999 Nigerian constitution clearly states that persons arrested or detained shall be brought before a court within a “reasonable time”.

The reasonable time means a period of 24 hours when a court of competent jurisdiction is within a radius of 40 kilometres to the police station or a period of two days in any other case.

The suspects have been in the custody of the agency since Monday, a period exceeding the constitutional time limit for charging an accused person to court.

The application by the agency for a detention warrant of the suspects is to make their detention beyond the constitutional period legal.

Others to be charged alongside Kyari are ACP Sunday J. Ubua; ASP Bawa James; Inspector Simon Agirgba and Inspector John Nuhu.

The agency is also investigating assets the suspended police boss claimed to own in a video that has gone viral

Isa Pantami Orders Government Ministries, Agencies To Stop Using Gmail, Yahoo Mail For Official Communication

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami has said the federal government has outlawed the use of generic internet domains for official purposes.

Pantami said this on Wednesday while addressing newsmen at the end of the weekly federal executive council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo.

The minister, controversial for his extremist terrorists preaching, said the council approved the “National Policy on the Government, Second Level Domain”, which mandates the migration of all official communications from generic domains to the nation’s second-level domain under the government top-level domain.

Pantami, whose removal had been demanded by a lot of Nigerians over terrorism-related comments, explained that all government agencies must switch to an official communication medium and stop using public email systems such as Gmail, Yahoo mail, Hotmail, and others.

“This policy has been approved, and it focuses more on mandating federal public institutions, ministries, departments, agencies (MDAs) and all institutions as long as they are for government; they should migrate from using generic domains in their websites and their emails to our second level domain under government top-level domain,” Pantami said.

“For example, you will discover today, some government institutions will engage in official communications using private email: yahoo.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com.

“And it is an official communication and someone may retire or will complete his tenure or the tenure can be terminated, and he will go with the same email. And in that email, there are many official documents.

“So, this will not be tolerated by the government anymore. Any official communications must be using an official email and that email should not be a generic one, it must be ‘.gov.ng.’ What is most important is ‘.ng’ that is our national identity.”

“There are many categories of the second-level domain, some are for military, you will see like mil.ng mil is a short form of military.ng for Nigeria. You can see .gov.ng — Gov for government and ng for Nigeria.

“So, there are categories of the second-level domain, while our country top-level domain.ng must be there in our websites so that whoever gets access will know that this website is from Nigeria, while for email, it must reflect the official name.”

Osun APC Primary: Aregbesola Playing God – Oyetola’s Aide Fires Back

As the  power tussle and acrimony between Rauf Aregbesola and Governor Gboyega Oyetola worsens, the chief press secretary to the governor, Ismail Omipidan, has slammed Mr Aregbesola for playing God.

He insisted that the interior minister is not God and cannot determine the fate of Mr Oyetola.

“My principal has absolute faith in God and the people of Osun. In these last three years plus, the people can tell the difference in terms of responsible and responsive governance and politics,” stated Mr Omipidan. “Therefore, it is God and Osun people that will determine Oyetola’s fate, not an individual trying to play God.”

Mr Omipidan further noted that the governor had absolute faith in God and the people of Osun, adding that in the last three years, the people can tell the difference in terms of responsible and responsive governance and politics.

“The general belief among most Africans that a man’s life is preordained and ruled by God has continued to play out in the political trajectory of Oyetola,” he added. “From 2011 when he was appointed chief of staff to 2018 when, against all odds, he emerged, first as the candidate of the APC, and later, governor of the state, at a time when many thought it was all over for him, it was obvious that he was on a divine political course.”

Also castigating Mr Aregbesola’s stance against the incumbent, the chairman of Osun APC Elders’ Caucus (‘Igbimo Agba’), Sola Akinwumi, accused him of displaying thuggery unbefitting his personality.

Mr Akinwumi said this while receiving the governor at his residence in Ilobu, Irepodun local government area.

Mr Akinwumi, who noted that Mr Aregbesola was acting like a baby politician, commended Mr Oyetola for his display of maturity and competence in handling the matter.

He called on the aggrieved members of the ruling party to return to the party and stop being deceived by those who have nothing to offer them. Mr Akinwumi also noted that the APC remained one family in the state.

He said;

“The president is keen. For us, what is most impressive here is that people are beginning to appreciate that the president is in good health and it was manifested from some of these pictures that they came across.

“That should dispel whatever fears that some people have. A lot of rumours concerning his health and all of that, generated by people of ill will; people who know nothing about these things.

“We keep saying this that the president is healthier than a lot of the young people who are attacking him on these matters. This continues to be proved by his outings as we have seen in Belgium.”

Federal Executive Council Approves $2.8 billion Spare Parts For Railway Operation

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi said $2.8 billion has been approved by the Federal Executive Council for the procurement of operational maintenance equipment for some railway projects.

Mr Amaechi disclosed this when he addressed State House correspondents at the end of the Council meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to him, the rolling stocks, which are consumables meant for the maintenance and operation of the railway, are meant for Ibadan to Kano standard gauge and Port Harcourt to Maiduguri narrow gauge railway projects.

“I have an approval of the cabinet to procure rolling stocks operational maintenance equipment for the new railway projects corridors in Ibadan to Kano standard gauge and Port Harcourt to Maiduguri narrow gauge rail lines to the tune of $2,810,574,064.92 including 7.5 per cent tax,” the minister announced.

“Rolling stocks are consumables for the maintenance and operation of the railway.”

“So with this, we will replace all the rolling stock. They are essentially the consumables we use to maintain the trains, coaches and locomotives,’’ he said.

On the reported attack on train passengers in Kogi, Mr Amaechi said the attack was not carried out at the train station, saying reports reaching him indicated that the victims were attacked outside the station while heading to their destinations.

He said: “The report I got wasn’t at the rail station, it was on their way out of the station.

“Our responsibility is inside the station. But again, you’re right. I really have to go and find out the level of armed security in the station.

“We’ve never been attacked inside the station. Well, that does not mean we should not find out.

“So, I thank you for reminding me to cross check. Policemen are supposed to be at every station because we have railway police.

“So let me not just assume that they are there because we have never been attacked in the station.’’

Mr Amaechi also confirmed that nobody was killed as a result of the attack as being reported in some quarters.

“The report I got from them was that on their way home, the road from the station to the community was attacked.

“But I didn’t hear that they were killed. I will find out from the Managing Director of Nigerian Railway Corporation,’’ he added.

Man Caught Having Oral Sex With Two Underage Brothers, Says He Was Testing His Manhood

A businessman, Abubakar Barkindo, has been caught having oral sex with two brothers, aged 8 and 9, for suspected ritual purposes in Adamawa State.

Barkindo, who admitted to committing the act, however, said it was to test if his manhood was functional.

The businessman, who sells engine oil and other lubricants in Yola, the state capital, allegedly lured the two boys into his apartment at the 50 Housing Units at Jambutu, where he ejaculated into their mouths after thrusting in and out.

The father of the sexually abused boys, while searching for the boys, was told by a neighbour to check Barkindo’s apartment, where he reportedly found his boys with semen dripping from their mouths.

“I came out looking for the boys in front of the house and was told Barkindo took them into his house. I suspected his motive, so I badged in only to see my kids with sperm in their mouths,” the father said.

The spate of ritual killings and related activities recently prompted a move by the House of Representatives to call for a state of emergency.

The Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Toby Okechukwu (Enugu, Peoples Democratic Party), in a motion last Wednesday, raised the alarm over cases of ritual killings and money rituals across the country.

Okechukwu, in a motion of urgent public importance, blamed Nigerian movies, popularly known as Nollywood, for the rising cases of ritual killings.

“While youths in other climes are embracing science and technology as a way of maintaining pace with our dynamic world, some of our youths seem stuck in the mistaken belief that sacrificing human blood is the surest route to wealth, safety and protection,” he said.

Barkindo has admitted inserting his manhood and ejaculating inside the mouths of the minors.

He was arraigned at a Chief Magistrate Court I on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to the offence, which is contrary to section 263 of penal code law of the state.

Narrating whyhe had oral sex with the boys, Barkindo said he committed the act to test if his manhood was functional; as according to him, he had experienced erectile dysfunction in recent times.

“I noticed some time back that my penis was no more functional and even complained to my mother about it.

“I got some herbs with a view to treating it, and later decided to test whether it had resumed duty by asking the boys to play with it,” he said.

In the First Information Report of the police, the prosecutor, Sergeant Sawe Nicholas informed the court that the defendant was caught by the father of the boys.

After his guilty plea, the judge, Abdullahi Digil ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody, adding that the case file should be transmitted to the Department of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

He adjourned the matter to March 7, 2022.

PDP Demands Minister’s Sack Over Toxic Fuel

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for the sack of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, over the importation and distribution of toxic fuel in the country.

The party accused the Minister of misleading Nigerians and concealing critical information on the toxic fuel at the initial stage.

According to the PDP, Sylva has failed in his official duties to the public by refusing to reveal the identities of those involved in the scandal.

The call is being made following a request by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for N201 billion to clean up the adulterated fuel.

A statement on Wednesday by the spokesman for the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, accused the APC administration of pilfering the national treasury with deliberate importation of the toxic fuel and seeking N201 billion to clean up the mess.

According to the PDP, it’s scandalous for the administration to further siphon money from the national coffers by seeking to draw the said money.

The opposition party insisted that those responsible for the importation of the fuel should be identified and made to bear the cost of cleaning up.

The party cautioned the administration against further pushing Nigerians to take to the streets in protest.

Accusing the administration of arrogance, corruption and insensitivity, the PDP said there were plots to shield the culprits behind the scandal.

Stating that the scandal has put the nation on the edge, the party said the only way to douse the tension is for the administration to expose those involved in the scandal.

It insisted that the culprits must be made to pay compensation, particularly to those whose vehicles and equipment were damaged by the toxic fuel as well as bear the cost of the said cleanup.

The PDP also demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari hands off the Petroleum Ministry portfolio and allow competent professionals to man the ministry to restore sanity in the system.

Many Injured As Fire Guts Law School Lagos Campus

There was stampede as fire broke out last night at the Lagos campus of Law School located on Ozumba Mbadiwe street, Victoria Island.

An eye witness who narrated the story to News Express said the fire, suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault, started at 10 pm from the first floor of the 5-story building hostel housing the about 1500 law graduates on the Lagos campus.

"The fire came with a big bang. There was stampede in the hostel. A student jumped from the first floor where the fire started near the reading room. Other students ran out from their rooms stark naked.

"People had asthma attacks and five people were injured bodily. One elderly woman who is a cleaner had her toe dislocated," said our source.

The fire was however contained when hostel security officials put off the main electrical server switch before the arrival of Fire Service some minutes later.

The injured students are currently receiving medical attention at the school's clinic.

Reports also gathered that, apart from one big electric cable, no tangible property was destroyed as nothing was close to the place where the fire started from.

IPOB, ESN Behind My Travails — Abba Kyari Cries Out

The embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has claimed that members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) are behind his travails.

Kyari made this claim when he appeared before a probe panel led by Joseph Egbunike, a Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, according to a report obtained by Daily Trust.

In a report submitted by the panel to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, which was in turn forwarded to the Police Service Commission (PSC), Kyari said the outlawed IPOB and its armed wing were after him  due to the onslaught launched against them in the South East.

Kyari, who did not deny violating social media rules of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), was berated by the panel for the fact that the officer had been warned against the same practice previously.

“It is a campaign to smear his reputation by members of IPOB/ESN who vowed to destroy him, due to his onslaught against them in the South East,” the embattled ‘super cop’ was quoted to have said in the report.

But the panel, which faulted his claim, saying it is watery, ordered his demotion from the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police.

Efforts to reach the Police Service Commission to find out whether it jettisoned the report on Kyari proved abortive.

Several calls made across to the mobile phone of the commission’s spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, were unanswered. He also did he respond to a text message sent to him.

Similarly, the acting spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force, Muyiwa Adejobi, did not answer calls nor responded to text messages when Daily Trust sought clarifications on the allegations that the force wants to protect Kyari.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police and members of the Force Management Team, on Wednesday visited the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, in his office at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Abuja.

The reason for his visit, according to a senior officer, was not unconnected with Kyari’s case but the Force in a statement said the visit was aimed at solidifying the synergy between the Police and the Judiciary as key players in the Criminal Justice System of the nation with a view to ensuring a smooth and efficient dispensation of justice.

One Can Become A Billionaire Through Obedience, How I Became Billionaire Without Even Knowing

General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has said he became a billionaire by Simply obeying God in what He said.

According to him in a sermon on Sunday, no one would ever without lining up with what God said made it happen, charging members to be committed Kingdom promoter from the place where they were.

“God is not a taskmaster. Sir, from 1 Naira position, you are taking strong position in obeying God. The tithe of 10 Naira is 1 Naira. What is your problem? He won’t give you 10 Naira and ask you to bring tithe of 2 Naira. No! When I say such, I say it as God leads me. My friend, instead of dropping N10 in a Service and you are going to be in 2 Services, divide it into two: put N5 in the first Service, put N5 in the second Service. God knows your level, don’t pose. But to now look…it is not fair on yourself. It is not on anybody else, it is on yourself.”

added: “Do you know my tithes was part of what we counted in Kaduna when our income was N18,000? But He never failed once. He never failed once! I was giving testimony of N1000 a week. How many years ago? But when you just sit down and be watching, “emm, God will open the windows of heaven.” He won’t open nothing.

There is what you must do, what I must do to keep the heaven open. But this year, whatever door you have shut against yourself, because people shut the door against themselves, or you don’t know. Life and de#th are in the power of the tongue…you are just destroying the work of your hands by yourself without knowing. Nobody here will fall a victim.

You know how many people can build a rural Church in this place, with N14 million or whatever. You know how many people can build it? You know how many people will never build it? If they have N14 billion, they won’t build one. If they have N140 billion, they won’t build one. Their heart is somewhere else. They are worshipping the coins. It took me time to become a ‘Thousandnaire.’ I didn’t know when I became a millionaire. I became a billionaire without knowing by simply obeying God. It’s all about you.”

Governor, Sanwo-Olu Should Be Re-elected In Lagos – Senate President, Ahmad Lawan Says

The Senate President Ahmed Lawan says Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos deserves a second term for the good work he had done in the state.

Mr Lawan said this in Ikeja, at the Fifth Town Hall Meeting and Empowerment Programme organised by the lawmaker representing Lagos West in the Senate, Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

He commended Mr Sanwo-Olu for good governance and validating the state’s position as the economic and commercial nerve centre of Nigeria.

Mr Lawan added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership across the country had watched with satisfaction the giant strides made by Mr Sanwo-Olu, stating that without any equivocation, the governor deserved reelection.

”We have been watching you over the past two and half years. You have been very wonderful. You have been consistent in terms of service delivery to the people of Lagos and indeed this country. You were focused,” he explained. “One good term you’re doing deserves another term.”

He also commended Mr Adeola for his contributions to the robustness of the Senate and his efforts to uplift his constituents through regular empowerment.

Mr Lawan called for more support for the APC, assuring that the ruling party was up to the task of defeating the opposition again.

On his part, Mr Sanwo-Olu lauded Mr Adeola’s empowerment programme, noting that some of the items, such as the ambulances and hospital equipment, would go beyond party affiliations when they become operational.

He described the senator’s efforts as complementing President Muhammadu Buhari and the Lagos government’s.

Mr Sanwo-Olu said his administration was committed to further developing Lagos, promising he would continue to execute human-friendly projects.
