Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and his Imo State counterpart, Rochas Okorocha, were reported missing at an emergency national caucus meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday.
The meeting was convened following the postponement of the 2019 general election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
President Muhammadu Buhari, the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, national leader Bola Tinubu and other party chieftains were in attendance.
But why the aforementioned governors, who are at loggerheads with the APC national chairman, did not attend the meeting was not clear at the time of this report.
However, Amosun’s absence could be as a result of the violence that broke out during the party’s recent presidential rally in Ogun.
The governor has since denied allegation that he sponsored political thugs to disrupt the presidential rally.
Governors in attendance included Nasir El-rufai, Abdulaziz Yari, Yahaya Bello, Sani Bello, Akinwunmi Ambode, Karim Shettima, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Umaru Tanko Al-makura.
