Popular comic Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe’ has been said to be reportedly dying without anyone to help.
We gathered that the news came from a media personality who disclosed this on grounds of anonymity.
According to information, the broadcaster claimed that the actor is terribly sick, adding that he has also not received any help from colleagues in the industry.
Further revelations had it that the seasoned Yoruba actor is battling an unknown disease which is capable of claiming his life.
In the year 2016, Yomi Fabiyi, a Nigerian filmmaker, also made this statement. He had made this disclosure about Baba Suwe, in a bid to pull the hands of other actors to help.
The OAP took to ranting about how selfish most actors are and how they never care for fellow filmmakers in need. Against this backdrop, the anonymous individual called out the names of several veteran acts.
He mentioned the likes of Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule, Mr Latin and Oga Bello. Then he accused them of not helping their colleague. His rant was directed at the fact that these men were running away from rendering assistance to Baba Suwe, and this was not because he was a bad man but because they were stingy.
“Baba Suwe is a good man. None of his people can say he is bad. And they are not helping him not because he behaved badly to them. They are not helping him because they care only about their family. That’s the nature of our actors, there is no exception.
“Imagine the caliber of people I told you I had spoken to about Baba Suwe’s case, yet none looks his way yet. But if, God forbid, he dies from the problem, they would be all over the place eulogising his qualities which they helped killed by their lack of empathy.” According to him, no filmmaker should rely on any colleague or expect help from them.
