Dear Burna Boy, You Really Need To Grow Up

Pride they say go before a fall, dear Burna Boy, I hope you will not like to fall after all your hard work, but to ensure that does not happen, you really need to grow up and stop all your childish behavior,  you honestly still have a lot of growing up to do.


Being regarded as a grown up man or woman isn't all about your age and physic, it's way beyond that, we still have some grown adult still stuck in childish attitude.

Mr Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, when you were announced as one of the nominees for the 10th edition of the biggest award in the world, The Grammy's, Nigerians were happy and more proud that we have produced another great musician aside one of Fela's children, Femi Kuti who have been nominated twice or more for the same award, it was a great news, we were all happy, your fans were happy, Africa was happy and proud, but suprisely, some people were not happy that you got the nomination, some could not hide their feelings as they took to their various social media handle to wish you don't win it, and of a truth, you didn't win it.

I hope you still remember that Femi Kuti has been nominated twice or more for the same Grammy award before you, heavens did not fall, the earth did not stop to exist, Nigerian musicians did not have to fear or think before posting any of their achievements on social media for the fear of being mocked by you.

Some of us thought they were just hating on you, me in particular, because I am a huge fan of your your music from day start, but little did we know they have seen your  tomorrow and how you would become after the Grammy's.

Oluwa Burna as you enjoy calling yourself, I want you to know that the name 'Africa Giant' isn't meant for the weak, jealous, pride and selfish person, it is and should be used on a more careful, loving, respectful and supportive person, you need to drop that title because with this your constant appetite for controversy and jealousy, you don't deserve the title, 'Africa Grant'

Why you enjoy hating on your colleagues is what I don't get. Since your came back from the Grammy's, you just wished everyone was under your feet, you wished to be crowned President of Nigerian musician which can never be possible.

Burna, you went from saying, even Fela that we all know you try to act like and imitate didn't contribute to your musical career, which gave you serious negative image to belittling Rakdo Banks when he offered to be featured in one of your songs, you openly turned him down with much disrespect and downgrading which also put you out as an arrogant individual in the industry.

You forgot that you also have Rekado Banks's fans as your fans, and if they decide to neglect your music, you'd probably lose some fans.

Indeed, I don't have a choice than to beg to support those who prayed and wish you don't win the Grammy's, because if you had won, you'd probably won't allow any artists in the industry breath or do anything without your permission.

You are now challenging every and anything anyone does because you wish it was you, forgetting that the sky is big enough to accommodate everyone

When the office of the Accountant General Of The Federal got burnt months ago, you took to social media to laugh at Nigerians, I don't know if you and your household are no longer Nigerians, because you think you have made it doesn't give you the right to laugh at others. We all are on the same ship, so stop acting more important and superior to others.

When your nomination was mentioned, David Adeleke, best known as Davido was seriously campaigning for you, he showed you all the love you needed, he was happy for you which we all saw, but you, you don't seem to appreciate anyone's effort so long it's not you.

I don't know who is deceiving you that hating on somebody's success will make you more successful, or pride will bring you more prestige. Somebody is not telling you the truth or you simple doesn't like hearing the truth, Burna, you need to grow up man. you are not an upcoming artirts.

Before you started rolling with top foreign artists, Wizkid, Davido, Psquare, D'banj, Do  Jazzy and the rest had already done all of that, so stop acting as if you are the Lord to all Nigerian artist, the world can't fall at your feet because you have tattoos all over your body, nobody is going to be scared of you, Nigerian artistes won't run away because of you.

The same Davido you called an "embarrassment" and accused of not good at singing because he announced his new album 'A Better Time" has more hit songs than you, he has more award than you, he loves you darely and you know it, but that pride in you won't let you see it.

You recently said everyone hates you, sorry Sir, nobody hates you, you are just arrogant and filled with so much pride, that is why you kept getting backlash from Nigerians anytime you did something wrong.

How can you call your fellow man and embarrassment, how can you even think of a thing like that? You feel he doesn't know how to sing, but he has more awards and features more than you do, permit me to say that Davido is more popular, successful and powerful than you are, go ahead and argue with your pride, it's an obvious truth.

Burna, if no one will tell you that you are arrogant, I will tell you, you need to see a therapist as soon possible. you need to take lots of sugar because you have too many bitterness inside of you and it's not good for a self acclaimed African Giant.

Incase you don't know it, you now have more haters than lovers, you are gradually loosing it and it's bad for your brand.

If you maintain this Lane you're walking on now, believe me, you have less than 5years to stay relevant in the Nigeria music industry.

You need to apologize to Davido, Rekado Banks, your fans and Nigeria as a whole, your arrogancy is growing everyday and it is slowly showing you the path of destruction. Have a rethink about how you do things, show some love, it's doesn't hurt, respect and love yourself so you can love others, you can give out what you don't have.

And before I end thus, a win for one Nigerian is a win for all of us. I hope you find this useful and put it in good use.
